POOR PERSONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COIvwIISS IONERS OF TYE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
All miscellaneous charities, and the administration and distri-
bution of all funds and provisions for the support of poor persons by the
City of Paducah are hereby vested in the Department of Public Safety; and
the Commissioner of Public Safety is hereby authorized and directed to
cause all applications for assistance under the provisions of this ordi-
nance to be investigated and administered through the agency of the Police
Department.
SECTION 2.
All funds, property and provisions of whatsoever kind or nature
appropriated, donated or otherwise set apart for miscellaneous charities,
or for the maintenance or support of poor persons, either by ordinance,
resolution or otherwise, shall be administered as provided in Section 1
hereof; provided, however, that nothing in this Ordinance shall be con-
strued as placing within the Department of Public Safety the administra-
tion of specific charities, or appropriations made to specified charita-
ble organizations within the City of Paducah.
SECTION 3.
This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage,
record and publication.
