FROM THE SOUTH PROPERTY LINE OF HUSBANDS STREET TO A POINT 100 FEET SOUTH
OF AIURRAY AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, THE SUi;I OF $2.652 PER
ABUTTING FOOT FOR THE COST OF CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE SIDE§'TALKS, CURBS
AIM GUTTERS, AND ALL NECESSARY MANHOLES, INTAKES, SEWERS AND CATCH BASINS
THEREFOR, AND PROVIDING THAT THE COST FOR DRIVEWAYS, APPROACHES AIM DRAIN
PIPES ABUTTING ON SAID PROPERTY BE CHARGEABLE TO AND ASSESSED AGAINST THE
PROPERTY _RECEIVING THE BENEFIT OF SAIJE, AS SHOWN BY THE ENGINEER'S
ESTIMATE AND ON FILE IN HIS OFFICE, AND PROVIDING THAT SAID ASSESSHENT
MAY BE PAID IN TEIV E9,UP_L INSTALLI,IENTS, BEING ONE EACH YEAR FOR A PERIOD OF
TEN YEARS.
WHEREAS, The Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Ken-
tucky, has heretofore, to-wit: on the 20th day of October, 1919, adopted
an ordinance entitled, "AIV ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
CONCRETE SIDE.'JALKS, CURBS AND GUTTERS, AND ALL NECESSARY _,dANHOLES, INTAKES,
SEWERS AND CATCH BASINS ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF HUSBANDS STREET, FROM THE
WEST PROPERTY LINE OF SIXTH STREET TO THE EAST PROPERTY LINE OF SEVENTH
STREET, AND ON BOTH SIDES OF SEVENTH STREET FROM THE SOUTH PROPERTY LINE
OF HUSBANDS STREET TO A POINT 100 FEET SOUTH OF IJNRRAY AVENUE, IN THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PROVIDING THAT SAA.AE I1AY BE PAID FOR UPON THE
TEN YEAR PAYs!ENT PLAN," and
.`WHEREAS, in accordance with said ordinance, it was provided that
the cost of the construction of said sidewalks, curbs, ;utters, sewers,
intakes, manholes, catch basins and driveways shall be paid for by the
abutting property owners on both sides of said street, except that portion
to be paid by the City of Paducah, Kentucky, as required by law, and
VMR EAS, pursuant to said ordinance a contract was entered into on
February 25th, 1920, by and between Yancey & Johnson of Paducah, Kentucky,
and the said City of Paducah for the construction thereof, and
.,IHEREAS, said contract has been completed in all respects, and the

work thereof finished and accepted by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Paducah, Kentucky, on the 27th day of September 1920, pursuant
to the recommendation made therefor by thq Commissioner of Public Works
of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and pursuant to a motion made by said
Commissioner, which motion was duly carried; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COi-714ISSIONMS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That all of the property on the South side of Husbands Street,
from the West property line of Sixth Street to the East property line of
Seventh Street, and on both sides of Seventh Street, from the South
property line of Husbands Street to a point 100 feet South of Murray
Avenue, in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be and the same is hereby
assessed for the cost of the construction o' said sidewalks, curbs,
gutters, sewers, manholes, intakes, catch basins the sum of C; 2.652 per
abutting foot, and the cost for driveways, approaches and drain pipes
abutting on said property is chargeable to and assessed against the
property receiving the benefit of same, as shown by the Engineer's
estimate, which is on file in his office, which estimate is made a part
hereof.
SECTION 2.
That all of the funds derived from the assessment of said pro -
party aforesaid shall be used for the purpose of paying off the Special
Tax Bills issued against said property, or such bonds as may be issued
by the City of Paducah pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky
Statutes.
SECTION 3.
That pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes, as
amended and re-enacted by an Act of the General Assembly of the Common-
wealth of Kentucky of 1910, entitled, "AN ACT TO AMEND AND RE-ENACT
SECTIONS 3094, 3096, 3097, 3098, 3099, 3100, 3101 AND 3102 OF THE KEN -
TUC KY STATUTES RELATING TO THE CONTROL AND IM2ROVEHENT OF STREETS,
PUBLIC WAYS, LIED I aS,WEARVES, GROUNDS AND SIDE!" EB IN CITIES OF THE
SECOND CLASS," said assessments may be - at the option of the property
owners - payable'in cash within (30) days from the date of the passage
and recording of this Ordinance, or in ten (10) annual installments,
pursuant to the provisions of said Statute.
SECTION 4.
In order to provide a fund for the immediate payment of the
cost of t'nat portion of the special assessments herein provided for,
which may be paid on the installment -payment -plan, as hereinbefore
provided for, the City of Paducah may issue and sell improvement bonds,
and to secure the payment of which bonds, there is hereby pledged such

axes and liens on the property assessed heroin for the payment of the
principal and interest on such bonds, but such bonds shall not be sold for
less than par, and the proceeds thereof applied exclusiVely to payment for
the improvement of said sidewalks, curbs-; gutters, manholes, catch basins,
intakes and seviers, as hereinbefore mentioned, and such bonds, if issued,
shall bear interest, and shall be payable in accordance with the provi-
sions of Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes, as amended and re-enacted
by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky for 1910, and
contained in said act hereinbefore mentioned.
SECTION 5.
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after
its passage, record and publication.
