AN ORDIDIANCE CREATING THE POSITION OF CITY ENGINEER, AIM PRE-
SCRIBING THE DUTIES, FIXING THE COIdPENSATION THEREOF, AND REPEALING
CERTAIN ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREF'IITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD Or COI.11ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY;
SECTION l:
There is hereby created tho position of City Engineer. The
qualifications, duties and compensation of the City Engineer shall be
as herein provided.
SECTION 2.
The Board of Commissioners shall elect a City Engineer upon
the adoption of this Ordinance, who shall be a competent Civil Engineer,
and shall have a practical knowledge of the construction, re -construc-
tion, surfacing, resurfacing of streets, alleys and other ways, and of
building, repairing and maintaining sewers, conduits, gutters and side-
walks, and of all other work incident to the duties usually required of
Civil Engineers in municipal construction work. He shall perform all
the duties incident to the Civil Engineering for said City, and such
other duties as :day be required in connection therewith by the Board of
Commissioners. The CityEngineer shall be in the Department of Public
Affairs, and for his services he shall be paia a salary of Two Hundred
(200.00) Dollars per month.
SECTION? 3.
An ordinance entitled, "AIT 0_RDINAITCE CREATING THE POSITIOU OF
SUPERIP:TENDENT OF PUBLIC II1?ROVEI,1EITT, PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES AED FIXINIG
THE COItuENSATION THEREOF, AND REPEALING ALL ORDIII_vNICES II1 CONIFLICT THERE-
WITH," which was adopted on the 5th day of January 1920, is hereby -re-
pealed, and all other ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent
of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall he in effect from and after its passage,
record and publication.
