OF PADUCAH, AND P_RESCRIBIDG PENALTIES FOR VIOL_4TION THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COP,VIISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, I NTUCKY;
SECTION 1.
It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to solicit alms
or beg for voluntary donations or gifts within the City of Paducah, with-
out first obtaining from the 1&.yor a permit as hereinafter provided. Any
person or persons who shall, by personal solicitation, seek to induce
others to give, donate or contribute to them for their- own use, or for the
use of another, any money, rrroperty or other thing of value shall be deem-
ed to be soliciting alms within the meaning of this ordinance.
SECTION 2.
Any person or persons desiring to solicit alms within the City
of Paducah shall first obtain a permit from the Hayor for such purpose,
Mand no permit shall be granted until the person applying therefor shall
submit, in writing, his name, age and residence and his local address in
the City of Paducah, and he shall also state the purposes for which the
alms so solicited shall be used; and shall also state the length of time
such solicitation shall continue.
SECTION 3.
Any person or persons soliciting or receiving alms within the
City of Paducah, in violation of the provisions of this ordinance or with-
out a permit so to do Ys herein provided, shall be fined in any siun not
'less than Five (;115.00) Dollars, nor more than Fifty (j50.00) Dollars.
SECTION 4.
ALL ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with anis ordi-
nance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5.
This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, re-
cord and publication.
