BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF CU,2,IISSION—"1S OF THE CITY OF
P-'DUCr_H, KENTUCKY;
SECTION 1.
There shall be appointed by the Board of Commissioners, a
Chief of Police who shall be the rankine officer of the Police Depart
ment next to the Commissioner of Fublic Safety, who shall neriorm the
duties required of :im by law, and who shall also perform such other
duties as may be required by the Commissioner of Public Safety, or by
the Board of Comrnissioners. He shall be paid a salary of ;145.00 per
month. The Commissioner of Public Safety shall have auUhority to
assip,n one man to duty as Sergeant of each shift of the police, and

the men so assiPned shall be 1-nown as "Day Sergeant" and "Nirrht Sergeant,'
and shall be the ranking officers of their respective shifts next to the
Chief of Police. Sergeants of Police, while serving as such shall each
be paid a salary of $110.00 per month, and shall servo,at the pleasure of
the Commissioner of Public Safety.
SECTION 2.
The positions of Night Captains and Day Captains of Police are
hereby abolished and terminated, and the duties pertaining to said posi-
tions shall be performed by the patrolmen under the direction of the
Comi:issioner of Public Safety.
SECTION 3.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herev:ith are •,

hereby repealed to the extent of such cont -1'3t.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall be in effect from its passage.
