There is hereby created the position of City Stenographer, who shall be elected by the Board of Commissioners, and who shall serve's the pleasure of the Board. SECTION 2. There shall be appointed by the Board of Commissioners a City Stenographer, ::ho shall be furnished an office in the City'Hall, and who shall be an expert and competent stenographer. The City Stenographer shall, when requested, attend the meetings of the Board of Commissioners and shall transcribe and prepare the minutes of the Board of Commission- ers; record all ordinances, resolutions, motions and other matters which may be required to be spread upon the records of the proceedings of the Board of Commissioners; write all contracts, ordinances, resolutions and other Daners for and on behalf of the Commissioners; take and transcribe the official correspondence for the "Tayor and all of the Commissioners v;hen requosted; prepare all pleadings and other papers in all actions for or against the City, and on behalf of the patrolmen when requested by the C.ity attorney to do so. The City Stenographer shall perform such other duties as may be required by the Board of Commissioners, and shall be paid a salary of $110.00 .per month. SECTION b. The orifice of Secretary and Stenographer to the I.1ayor and stenographer to Li -,e Commissioners of the severt.l departments of the City No. 3 ,� Ordinance Government heretofore created and established is hereby abolished and terminated; and The office of Clerk to the Commissioner of Safety is hereby abolished and terminated. c_ - SECTION 4.
