AN ORDINANCE TO AlMiD SECTIONS 8 AND 23 OF eN ORDINANCE
ENTITLED, "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR TEE SALE OF A FRANCHISE AND PRIVIL-
EGE FOR THE PURPOSE OF ERECTING, OPERATING AND L:AINTAINING AN ELECTRIC
STREET RAILWAY OVER CERyaIN STREETS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KEIJTUCKY,
APPROVED BY JAMES P. SMITE, I,ii,YUR, ON THE 10th DAY OF L'12iRCH, 1911."
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the
City of Paducah, Kentucky:
Section 1. That Section 8 of an ordinance entitled, "An
Ordinance Providing for the Sale of a Franchise and Privilege for the
Purpose of Erecting, Operating and PSaintaining an Electric Street Railway
over certain Streets in the City of Paducah, Kentucky," approved by
James P. Smith, Mayor, on the 10th day of March, 1911, be, and the same
is hereby amended by striking out the following words and figures: "shall
not exceed 4 for each person," and inserting in lieu thereof the follow-
ing: "shall not exceed 7� cash fare for each person," -and adding to
said. section the following words and figures:
"The Gompany shall place on sale at convenient points in the
city, metal tokens which shall be sold five for thirty cents, one of
which shall be received in payment for one continuous passage, per-
mitting purchasers of tokens in this menner a six (6u) cent fare."
so that said section when so amended shall read as follows, to -wit:
"Section 8.
"The fare for one continuous passage over said line shall not
exceed 7V cash fare for each person, between the hours of six o'clock
A. M. and eleven o'clock p. I',1.; the fare for one continuous passage
over the said line shall not exceed 10� for each person between the
hours of eleven o'clock P. M. and six o'clock A. T.T. The Company shall
place on sale at convenient points in the city, metal tokens which shall
be sold five for thirty cents, one of which shall be received in payment

for one continuous passage, permitting purchasers of tokens in thie
manner a six (6V) cent fare."
Section 2. That Section 23 of said ordinance be, and the
same is hereby repealed in its entirety and re-enacted so as to read as
follows, to -wit:
"Section 23.
"The owner of said railway shall place and continue thereon, good
cars, with modern conveniences, and may not charge more than seven
cents for each passage and half fare for children between the ages of
five and twelve years, but for children under five years of age, when
accompanied by a responsible person, nothing, and the City reserves the
right, upon giving notice to the manager, or owners thereof, to regu-
la�e the fare, time, speed, and number of trips per day to be made by
the cars of said railway, as above set out."
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances, in so far
as same conflict herewith, are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage, record and publication.
