WHEREAS, a petition sighed by a number of qualified voters of the
City of Paducah,-entucky, , equal to more than 25jo (twenty-five per
centum) of the total number of votes cast for both candidates for mayor
at the last preceding regular election for mayor, stating the residence
of each signer, and verified by affidavits of persons as to the sigraturc:s
and residences, was filed before the Board of Commissioners of the City
of Paducah, requesting said Board of Commissioners to pass an ordinance

,IH _EAS, it is the sense of the Board of Commissioners that they
decline to pass or adopt this orf••.inance, in order that it may be submitted
to a vote of the people as provided in Section 3235-C, Subsection 2,� of
the Kentucky Statutes; now, therefore -
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF 00"MISSIOITERS OF THE CITY '
OF PADUO_I'., EENTUCKY:
Section 1. That there is hereby called an election in the City of
Paducah, Kentucky to be held. on I?ovember 6th, 1917, betv:een the sere hours
and by the s__r._e election officers conducting the regul 2 election of State,
County and City officers for the year 1917, for the purpose of submittir:g
to the qualified electors of the City of Paducah, Kentucky the question of
the adoption and passage of an ordinance entitled: ":.P? ORDINAI,CE PLAC LNG

RULES AND REGULATIONS", and the question of the adoption and passage of
said ordinance is hereby submitted to the qualified voters of the City c
Paducah at said I?ovember 6, 1917 election.

Section A eortifiecl copy of said ordinance montioned in Section 1
shall be filed with the County Court Clerk of EcOracken County not loss
than thirty dais before November 6, 1917, and a copy of said ordinance shall
be published in the official nearspaper of the City of Paducah for at least tt,7o
weeks just preceding the general November election for 1917.
Section 3. The County Court. Clerk of :.*cCracLen County Will have printed
upon the ballot, to be delivered to thb qualified electors in each precinct
of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, at the November 1917 election, the folloW-
ing question:
