Y.M,'REAS, The Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky have heretofore had prepared by G. Tandy Smith, Jr. Architect, certain plans and specifications for the improvement of the Iaarket House situated on Second Street or Iiarket Square, bety:een Broadway and dentuc'_2y -=venue, in the City of Paducah, Kentuelcy, and - .11=1_3, The said Board of Commissioners advertised for bids for the construction thereof according to said plans and specifications to be opened at 10:00 A.M. January 16th, 1915, and, hHERE,_S, at said time and place nine bids tiiere presented and upon opening thereof it was ascertained that the lor;est and best bidder for the construction of said r;ork ­.as?Iineteen Hundred and 'Len (y1910.) Dollars, now, Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentuc'W: Sec. 1. That the Iarket House situated on Second Street or 11-arket Square, between Kentucky Avenue and Broadway, in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be improved by constructing brick malls along each side of the open places now existing in said I.Iarket House with appro- priate openings, rtindo;-s and ornaments as provided for and contemplated by the plans and specificatioas therefor prepared by G. Tandy Smith, Jr. Architect for the City of Paducah, now on file in the -ffice of the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners, Thich are referred to and made a part hereof as fully as if set forth herein and marked "A" and "B" for more specific identification. Sec. 2. That upon this ordinance becoming effective a contract shall be entered into by and between the City of Paducah and the lowest and best bidder for the construction of said work in the amount of said bid and the said City of Paducah shall by said contract require of said contractor a bond in the sum of not less than One Thousand (;1lJ00.) Dollars for the faithful performance of said work and the payment of all lien claims upon same in accordance with the plans and specifications hereinbefore referred to. Sec. 3.
