Be it ordained by ,the Board of Commissioners of the City
of Paducah, Kentucky:
Sec. 1. That Section 3 of an ordinance entitled, "An
Ordinance determing the functions of the departments of Public itffairs,
Publie-Finance, Public Safety, Public Yorks and Public Property, and
prescribing the duties of the Commissioners," adopted by the Board of
Commissioners on January 1st 1915, be, and the same is herebz; amended
by adding thereto, at the end of the first paragraph thereof the fol-
lowing ero-rds: "Provided however the Commissioner of Finance shall be
and he is hereby empowered to deposit such sum or sums of money as may
have been heretofore collected by the City of Paducah or may be hereafter
collected by the City of Paducah or the construction of sewers in such
other bank or banks and in such sum or sums as he may determine, from
time to time, upon the execution of D. bond payable to the City of
Paducah in such amount as may be necessary to protect said City against
loss for the deposit of said money in said bank or banks", so that
said section of said ordinance when so amended shall read as follows:
Section 3. The Commissioner of Public Finance shall
have charge of all the fiscal accounts of the city, ----

and disbursement of all of the funds of the City, subject to the orders
and directions of the Board of CoMmissioners, and he shall have
general supervision over all officers, agents, or employees assigned
to o'r�performing any of the duties coniected with the assessing of
property for taxation, the collection of taxes or license revenue, or
the disbursement and safekeeping of all funds of the City. Linder
his supervision and charge shall be the City -assessor, City Clerk,
City Auditor, the Delinquent Tax Collector, and such clerks or employ-
ees as may be assigned to the Department of Public Finance, together
with all other officers charged with any general or suecial duties
pertaining to the collection or disbursement of genoral or special tax-
es, or assessments, or fees, or other money of the City of Paducah,
consistent with such powers, rimhts and duties of the Cit, Treasurer,
Cit;; Clerk, i:ssessor and Auditor, as may br reserved to them by Charter
of cities of the second class and such amendments thereto as have been
heretofore enacted. He shall cause proper accounts to be kept of all
receipts and disbursements of the City, and he shall audit, or cause
to be audited., the accounts of all officers or employees intrusted r-ith
receiving or disbursing public funds, and make monthly reports to the

shall examine, Or cause to be examined, and report to said Board upun
all bills, accounts, payrolls or claims, before they are acted upon or
allowed, unless otherwise provided by law or ordinance. He shall r;eposiLt
all funds of the City in one of the banks of the City of Paducwh, to be
selected by the Board of Commissioners during some regular or called
session thereof, and such bank shall be known as - and shall be - the
City Depository.
Provided however, the Commissioner of Finance shall be
and he is hereby empowered to deposit such sum or sums of money as may
have been heretofore collected by the City of Paducah, or may be here-
after collected by the City of Paducah, for the construction of sewers
in such other bank or banks and ill such sum or sums as he may determine,
from time to time, upon the execution of a bond payable to the City of
Paducah in such amount as may be necessary to protect said City against
loss for the deposit of said money in said bank or banks.
The Commissioner of Public Finance shall collect all
taxes, assessments, fees, rents, or other moneys due or to become due
to the City, and have charce thereof, and of all the funds, general or
special, of the City, and report to the Board of Commissioners all de-
linquencies as to reports, collections and disbursements in the premises,
together with such recommendations as he may deem advisable. He shall
keep the special funds of the City raised by special assessments and tax
levies, in accounts separate from the general funds of the City, and --
shall disburse said ihnds only upon the order of the Board of Commission-
ers.
Sec. 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage.
