V/HEREvS, the Viest Kentucky Industrial College has been receiving
an appropriation from the City annually for some years; and
C;HERE-S, we deem this institution a worthy one, and realize
that it is doing considerable good to educate, elevate and uplift the
colored race; and
WHEREAS, it is especially desired by the Trustees of this
institution that this annual appropriation_ be continued so that the effect
of it may be used in securing a donation from the State; and
V,EERE.mS, this institution is now in need of immediate aid -
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that one hundred (.;,100.00) Dollars be appropriated
to it, and said amount charged to the fund to be provided in the apportion
ment ordinance under that head.

WHERE -S, the City of Paducah anticipates that it will need to

borrow the sum of One Hundred Thousand (x100,000.00) Dollars to pay the
current expenses of said City for the first half of 1917, and

sufficient time to meet said obligations -

Section 1. That the Liayor is hereby directed and authorized to execute
revenue notes for and in behalf of the City of Paducah,.dated January 17,
1917, due and payable six (6) months from date, in the aggregate sum of
one Hundred Thousand (.;,100,000.00) Dollars, with interest thereon at the
ntum per annum from maturity until paid, and to
rate of six (6;4)) per ce
secure the payment of which, when so executed by the i,iayor, the City of
,Paducah hereby pledges a sufficient portion of the anticipated current
revenue of the City of Paducah for the first half of 1917 to pay said
notes, together with any interest and costs attached hereto.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its
passage.
