the location of an armor plate plant at some inland point, which has not
Yet been chosen, and
P;IEREAS, the City of Paducah, by reason of its geographical situation,
river and rail transportation facilities, ample and suitable grounds for
the location of a plant, favorable labor conditions, proximity to coal and
iron producing sections, and other advantages set forth at greater length
in a brief prepared under the auspices of the Paducah Board of Trade,
seem to be the most suitable place which could be selected; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED: That we, as Commissioners of the City of Paducah,
and as citizens, indorse and approve the action of the Board of Trade in
the steps it is taking, to direct attention to the advantage of constructing
the proposed plant here.
That we urge our Representative and Senators, believing them to be
the most influential advocates and spokesmen that could be selected by us
and by this City, to do all in their power to bring about the location of
this plant at Paducah.
That copies of these resolutions be mailed to Senator 011ie It.
James, Senator J. C. W. Beckham and Hon. Alban W. Barkley.
