AN ORDINANCE ASSESSING THE ABUTTING PROPERTY ON BOTH SIDES OF
BROADWAY FROIS FIRST TO FOURTH STREET, IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY,

r WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky has heretofore, on the 10th day of April 1916, adopted an
ordinance entitled, "i+s! ORDII4A110E PROVIDING MR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF
BROAD77AY FROI:: THE VEST CURB LINE OF FIRST STREET TO THE EAST CURB LINE
OF FOURTH STREET, IN THE CITY OF PADUCi-H, =11TUCKY, AND PROVIDING THAT
SAID II.TRO VM2MIT SHALL BE I1LDE UPON THE TEN YEAR PAY11MI T PLAI! ; ` and,
LHEREAS, said ordinance provides that the cost of the recon-
struction of said street shall be paid for by the abutting property
owners on both sides thereof, except that portion to be paid by the
City of Paducah, as required by lavr; and ,
WHEREAS, pursuant to said ordinance a contract was, on the
26th day of August 1916, entered into by and between G. V,-. Katterjohn
and the City of Paducah, for the reconstruction of said street; and,
WHEREAS, said contract has been completed in all respects
and the improvement therein provided for has been finished and
accepted by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
on the 17th day of november, 1916, pursuant to recommendation made
therefor by the Commissioner of Public Works of said City; now, there-
fore,

Sec. 1. That all the property on both sides of Broadway from First
Street to Fourth Street, in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be, and
the same is hereby assessed the sum of 03.644028 per front foot for the
reconstruction of said street by paving with creosote wood paving
blocks.
Sec. 2. That all of the funds derived from the assessment of said
property aforesaid shall be used for the purpose of paying off the
Special tax bills issued against said property or such bonds as may be
issued by the City of Paducah pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky
Statutes.
Sec. 3. That pursuant to Section 3101 of t1m Kentucky Statutes, as
amended and re-enacted by an act of the General <=ssembly of the Common-
wealth of Kentucky of 1910, entitled, "AN ACT TO AI.D511D nD RE-EN.LCT
SECTIONS 3094, 3096, 3097, 3098, 3099, 3100, 3101 and 3102 OF THE
KENTUCKY STi.TUTES, RELATING TO THE CONTROL bND ILLpROVELzijN OF STREETS,
PUBLIC WAYS, LANDINGS, 'UHnRVES, GROUNDS dI{D SIDEWi LKS Ii! CITIES OF THE

SECOND CLASS", said assessments may be -at the option of the property
owners- payable in cash within thirty (30) days from the date of the
passage and recording of this ordinance, or in ten (10) annual;r.
installments, pursuant to the provisions of said Statute.
Sec. 4. In order to provide a hind for the ii -mediate payment of the
cost of that portion of the Special assessments herein provided for,
which are to be paid on the installment -payment -plan, as hereinbefore
provided for, the City of Paducah shall issue and sell Improvement
Bonds, and to secure the payment of which bonds there is hereby
pledged such taxes and liens on the property assessed herein for the
payment of the principal and interest on such bonds, but such bonds
shall not be sold for less than par, and the proceeds thereof applied
exclusively to payment for the improvement of said street, as
hereinbefore mentioned, and such bonds shall be issued and shall bear
interest, and shall be payable in accordance with the provisions of
Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes as amenled and re-enacted by
the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky for 1910, and
contained in said Act hereinbefore mentioned.
Sec. 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from its
passage and the recording of same.
