BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COM.:ISSIONERS OF THE CITY
OF PADUC iH, ,MIdTUCYY:
THAT, VHEREAS, it appears to the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Paducah that a large gathering of men are now assembled in the
City of Paducah with the ostensible purpose of handing or attempting
to hang one certain prisoner now in the county jail of LIeCrachen
County, Which jail is located in the heart of the City of Paducah,
and the said Commissioners believing it to the best interest of the
community and as a police regulation, that all the saloons and places
wherein spirituous, vinous or malt liquors are sold be closed until
such gathering of men shall have been volunte-rily or otherwise
dispersed -
The Chief of Police of the City of Paducah is now hereby
directed to close every saloon and place wherein spirituous, vinous
and malt liquors are sold, until further orders of this Board.
