WHEREAS, heretofore a contract has been let to George W. Katter-
john by the City of Paducah for the reconstruction of Broadway from
the Viest curb line of First Street to the East curb line of Fourth
Street, and
WHEREAS, in the bid made by said Katterjohn same was based upon
specifications furnished by the Commissioner of Public {Yorks, in which
crushed rook was designated as material to be used and gravel was not
mentioned therein, and
SYREREAS, since said bid was me -do and contract entered into .
between said City and said Katterjohn, it has come to the knowledge of
the Commissioners and said Contractor that gravel used as a material
instead of rook would be far cheaper to the property owners along said
street, and equally as good, if not better than crushed stone,- now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C01.7SISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
Section 1.
That the said Katterjohn is hereby directed and authorized to
use gravel in place of said crushed rock, as called for in said speci-
fications, and he is to be allowed in the estimates a less amount in
proportion to the difference in cost between gravel and crushed rock.
Section 2.
This Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage and record.
