l.L R'E:1S, some doubt exists as to whether the act of the General
Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, which r, a approved on the 21st
day of I.Zarch 1910 and commonly knovn as the het providing for the Coia-
mi.ssion Form of Government in Cities of the second class,, abolished the
Board of Trustees of the Public Library in cities adopting the provis-
ions of said Act, and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Paducah that the present m napement and. control of the Public
Library of said city be continued, and that the persons -:ho constituted ,
the Board of Trustees of the Public Library of said City on December
31st, 1914 shall continue to control and manage said Public Library,
therefore,
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Paducah:
Section 1. The persons who composed the Board of Trustee -c
Of the Public Libras of the City of Paducah on December 31st, 1914 are
hereby appointed and designated asagcnts of the City of Paducah for the
purpose of managing and controlling the public library of said city, and
the said persons,,and their successors, shall be kno-n and designated as
the Board of Trustees of the Public Library of the City of Paducah..
Section 2. Persons composing said Board'of Trustees as
provided in Section 1, and their successors, shall, as agents of the
City of Paducah, have full charge, control and management of the Public
Library, and said persons are, as far as the Board of Commissioners has
por+er to grant to them, hereby vested with all the rights, power and
authority vested by law in Boards of Trustees of Public Libraries in
cities of the second class.
Section 3. If at any time one of the -persons constituting
said Board of Trustees shall be unable to, or shall fail to perform his
duties as a member thereof, the Board of Commissioners shall appoint
another person in his place; and the Board of Corimissioners reserves to
itself the right at all times to appoint other persons as weirnbers of said
Board in place of those appointed by this ordinance, +.,hori rey herer. te_

Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after
its passage, approval and publication, as required by lass.
