Sec. 1. That the alley extending from.'r)nroe street to Lladisnn street,
between Sixth and Seventh streets, in the City of Paducah, Kentuclnj, be,
and the same is hereby ordered to be constructed; that said alley shall
be constructed by grading and gravelling sane, _:id all to be done in
strict accordance with the plans, grades, specifications, '..idths and
profiles of the Comraissinner of Public l7orks, prepared by him for such
purpose- all of which are adopted as a part of this ordinance as fully
as if embraced herein or attached hereto a?d made a part hereof, and
niwrked "-" for more specific identification.
Sec. 2. That said wort- shall be constructed under the direction and
supervision_ of the Comriissiol?er of Public orks, and shall be commenced
at a tiL:e designated by contract for the performance of said wort-, and
completed o= or before three (3) months after the passage and .recording
of this crdinance.
Sec. 3. That the cost of such construction of said alley shall be paid
for wholly by the property o=ers abutting or fronting th.ereon, on both
sides thereof, to be apportinred to and assessed against the property
and property o,,ners abutting thereon, on both sides thereof, according
to the number of frort feet .butting thereon, except that the C __..--
Paducah shall pay such portion of such costs of construction as required
by law.
Sec, 4. The contractor atizarded. the contract for the wnrl- herein pro-
vided for shall be paid only from the funds arising from the Special tax
bills and assessments �7ainst the _property abutting the improvement
herei_11 provided for, and in no other way; and in no event shall the City
of Paducah be li �:ple to the contractor for the construction of cny of the
r.:o-rk herein provided for, except that the City of Paducah shall be liable
to the said contractor fnr the excess of fifty (50") per cent of the v lue
of any property assessed for the constriction of any of the work herein
provided for.
Sec. 5. This ordin.nee shall take effect and be in force ten (10)
days after same is adopted and recorded; provided petition, .ecordi-ng to
law, for sa referendwn vote hereon has not been filed within said ten days.
