constructed; that said sidewalks and gutters shall be constructed of
concrete material and the curbing shall be of granite, suitable in all
respects for such construction, ana all to be clone in strict ac;:ordance
with the plans, grades, sne•cifications, ridths and profiles prepared in

the office of the Comr_issinner of Public ,rorhs, and all of which are

adopted as a p�.rt of this ordinance as .fully as if embraced herein or
attached hereto _�r_d .rade a peat ihereof, and are marked 1.0 for more
specific ids:tification.
Sec. 2. That said work shall be constructed under the directirn and
supervision of ti.e Cnmmissirner of Public % r'rhs, and shall be commenced
at a tine designc:,ted by contract for the performance of said work, and
completed or or before Six (6) n_rnths after the passage and recording of
this ordinance.
Sec. 3. What the cost of such construction of said cider;, .'.s, curbs
and gutters, and the necsss :r r.;aniheles, i_ -takes, catch bas __ ; and. `
severs, shall be paid for rholly by the property owners abutting 0

fronting thereon, on both sides thereof, to be apportioned to and
assessed against the property and property ovrners abutting thereon, ar
both sides thereof, according to the number of front feet abutting
thereon, except the corner lots abutting upon said improvement shall
pay for the entire cost of all of the intersections, in addition to the
abutting property immediately in front thereof.
Sec. 4. The contractor am;,'ardod the contxact for the work herein
provided for shall he paid only from the funcls arising from the Sroeial

the State of Xentucly, and for the payment of which said tax bills and
assessments may be pledged by the said City of Paducah; and in no event
shall the said City of Paducah be liable to the contractor for the con- '
struction of any of the work herein provided for, except the said City
of Paducah shall be liable to the said contractor for the excess of
fifty (50;07) per cent of the value of any property assessed for the con-
struction of the work herein provided for.
Sec. 5. The contractor awarded the contract herein provided for
shall be paid monthly by Improvement `'arrants, issued by the City of
Paducah upon estimates furnished by the Commissioner of Public s+orlm, to
the extent of sixty-five (65,,4) per cent of the value of the work done or
materials furnished by the contractor duxing• the progress of the work,
and said Irnprnveme-n_t I','arrants shall bear six (60) per cent interest from
date of issual and shall be issued by the Commissioner of Public Finance
upon order of the Board of Corm:issior_ers. Said Imprnvoment Warrants shoal
be negotiable, and shall ennstitute a lien upon the local taxes to be
hereafter levied for such improvement, and shall be payable at the office
of the Commissinner of Public Finance, t•:ithn:,t notice to the holder
therenf, upon completinn and accepta:ice of the work herein provided for,
nut of the first collectins of such local taxes, or out of the proceeds
of the sale of any Improvet.:ent Bonds issued in anticipation of such local
tares. The interest on sac's Improvement iYarralts shall be estimated and
assessed as a part of the cost of the improver.ent herein provided for.
Sec. 6. This ordinance shall tale effect and be in force ten (10)
days after same is adopted and recorded; provided petition, according to
lr" for a referendum vote hereon, has not been filed within said ten
dLys.
