Sec. 1. That the driveway of Broadway from the 67est curb line of
First street to the East Curb line of Fourth street, in the Cit„ of
Paducah, uentucky, be, and the same is hereby ordered to be recon-
structed; that said street shall be -reconct--uctcd '::ith concrete,
bitulithic, asphalt, vitrified brick, or creosoted ::ooden blocks,
as may be determined by the Board of Qotuaissione-rs as the best and
most economical hereafter, upon bids rude therefor, and all to be
done in strict accordance ,:itil the plans, grades, s-r.ecifications ,
riidths and profiles of file Cor:?nissioner of Public +orh's, prepared by
him for such purpose, all of ',:hich are adopted as a part of this
Ordinance as .fully as if er.-braoed herein or attached hereto µnd made
/ a part hereof marked "a" for more specific identification.
Sec. 2. That said work shall be constructed under the direction and
supervision of the Commissioner of Public Works, and shall be Com-
menced at a time designated b-.-, contract for the performance of said
-.cork, and completed on or before six months after the passage and
recording of this Ordinance.
Sec. 3. That the cost of such construction of said street shall be
paid for w,olly by the property o niers abutting or fronti .7 thereon,
on both sides thereof, to be apportioned to and assessed against the
property and propej:t77 owners abutting thereon, on both sides thereof,
according to the number of front feet abutting thereon, except that
the City of Paducah shall pay such portion of such costs of con-
struction as required bylaw.
Sec. The contractor awarded the contract for the work herein
provided for shall be paid only fro:, the funds arising from the
Special tax bills and assessments against the property abutting the
improvement herein provided for, and in no other gray, except that the
said contractor may be paid out of such bonds as may be issued, in
accordance with the lair of the City of Paducah and charter of cities
of the second class of the State of !:entucky, and for the payment of '
rhich said tax bills and assessments 1r.ay be pledged by the said City
of Paducah; and in no event shall tl!e sr.id Cite Of Paducah be
liable to the contractor for the construction of cn..iy of t'^e work herein
provided or, e_ecit that the said City of Paduc• shall be lifole
to the said contractor for the e::uesw of fifty (50d) per cent of Lhe ,

Sec. 5.
The contractor awarded the contract herein provided fr v ci=all
be paid monthly by Improvement Warrants, issued by the City of
paducah upon estimates :furnished by the Cot:unissione-r of Public 'Jori:N
to the extent of si.ty-five (65 ) per cent of the value of the
done or materials furnished by the contractor durir_g the pro ress of
the work, and said Improvement 6ia-rrants shall bear six (G ) ner cent
interest from date of issual and sh 11 be issued by the Commissioner
of public finance upon order of the Board of Corsnissioners. Said
Improvement Warrants shall be netotiable, and shall constitute a
lien upon the local taxes to be hereafter levied for such improvement,
and shell be payable at the Sffice of the Commissioner of Public

acceptance of the erork herein provided for, out of the first collec-
tion Of such local taxes, Or out of the proceeds of the sale of any
