WHEREAS, The Board of Commissioners of the Cita of Paducah,
Kentucky, hes heretofore, to -wit: on the 14th day of My 1923, adopted
an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDZi°_,I:C'; T?3OVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUC'ION OF

WHEREAS, in accordance with said Ordinance, it was provided that
the cost of the construction of said street shall be paid for by the
abutting property owners, except that portion to be paid for by the City
of Paducah, as required by lass: and,
"'JHEREAS, pursuant to sa}d Ordinance, a contract was entered into
by and between Yancy & Johnson, Contractors, of Paducah, Kentucky, and
the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for the construction thereof: and,
THER AS, said contract has been completed, in all respects,
and t -% ,`pork thereof finished and accepted by the Board of Commissioners
of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, on the 17th day of December 1923,
pursuant to the recommendation made therefor by the Commissioner of
Public Jorks; and the Engineer's Estimate of the cost thereof having
been confirmed; NOW, THEREFORE -

SECTION 1.

That all of .the property on both sides of ISonroe Street from the
Test property line of Eighth Street to the East property line of Ninth
Street, in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be, and the same is hereby
assessed for the cost of construction of said street the sum of
02.720116 per abutting foot by paving same with concrete, as is shown
by the Engineer's Estimate.
SECT ION 2..
That all of the finds derived from the assessment of said
property aforesail, shall be used for the purrose of payine off the
special tax bills issued against said property, or such bonds as may be
issued by the City of ieducah, pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky
Statutes.
SEC T ION 3.
That pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes, said

assessment may be, at tre option of the propert- o•vners, rryrble in cash
within thirty (30) days f-om the publication of this Ordinaree, or in ten
annual installments, as provided in said Sectior.
87C TION 4.
In order to provide a fund for the immediate payment of the
cost of that portion of the said assessment -.7hich may be paid on the Ten
Year Payment Flan, the City of Paducah may issue and sell Improvement
Bonds; and, to secure the payment of said bonds, there is hereby pledged
such taxes and liens on the property assessed hereir_ for the paymex.t of
the principal ar.d interest, but such bonds shall not be sold for less
than roar and accrued interest, and the proceeds thereof applied exclusive

ly ir. payment of the improvement hereinbefore mentioned, .rd such bonds, f

if issued, shall bear interest and shall be pnyable in accordance with
the provisions of Sections 3101 and 3102 of the Kentucky Statutes.
SEC T I Oir 5.
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after
its passage, record and publication.
