AN ORDINANCE ASSESSING THE ABUTTING PROTERTY ON BOTH SIDES OF AN
ALLEY IN BLOCK 9, OLD TO -NN, CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, RUNNING FROM: SECOND
STREET TO THIRD STREET, BETWEEN BROADWAY AND JEFFIMSON STREET, IN THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, THE SU1.1 OF $2.13668 PER ABUTTING FOOT FOR THE CON-
STRUCTIO11 OF SAID ALLEY r9ITH CONCRETE, AS SHOWN BY THE ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE,'
EXCEPT `'THAT PORTION TO BE PAID FOR BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND
PROVIDING THAT SAID ASSESSM7NT K6Y BE PAID FOR IN TEN EQUAL INSTALLM?NTS,
BEING ONE EACH YEAR FOR A PERIOD OF TEN YEARS.
1.11HERE'AS, `Phe Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, has heretofore, to -wit: on the 6th day of August 1923, adopted
an ordinance entitled, "AN ORDIIIAIICE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN
ALLEY III BLOCK 9, OLD TOWN, TOGETHER '.IITH ALL NECESSARY MANHOLES, CATCH

BASINS, INTAKES AND SEVER PIPES, RUNNING FROM SECOND STREET TO THIRD
STREET, BETWEEN BROADWAY AND JEFFil2SON STREET, IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY, AT THE COST OF THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS, AND PROVIDING THAT;
SAM, SHALL BE CONSTRUCT.&D UPON THE TEN YEAR PAYMENT PLAN;" and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with said Ordinance, it was provided
that the cost of the construction of said alley shall be paid for by the
abutting property owners, except that portion to be paid for by the City
of Paducah, as required by law; and,
hIEREAS, pursuant to said Ordinance, a contract was entered
into by and between G. V. Katterjohn & Son, Contractors, of Paducah,
Kentucky, and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for the construction there-
of; and,
WHEREAS, said contract has been 'completed, in all respects,
and the work thereof £ir_ished and accepted by the Board of Commissioners
of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, on the 29th day of October, 1923,
pursuant to the recommendation made therefor by the Commissioner of
Public ,Yorks; and the Engineer's Estimate of the cost thereof having
been confirmed; now, theref.ore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF 001,111ISSION12S OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, Y NTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That all of the property on both sides of an Alley in Block 9,
Old Town, City of Paducah, Kentucky, running from Second Street to Third
Street, between Broadway and Jefferson Street, in the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, the sum of $2.13668 per abutting foot for the construction of
said Alley with concrete, as is shown by the Engineer's Estimate.
SECTION 2.
That all of the funds derived from the assessment of said
property aforesaid, shall be used for the purpose of paying off the
special tax bills issued agair_st said property, or such bonds as may be
issued by the City of Paducah, pursuant to Section 3101 of the Kentucky
Statutes.
SECTION 3.
That pursuant .to Section 3101 of the Kentucky Statutes, said
assessments may be, at the option of the property oviners, payable in
cash within thirty (30) days from the publication of this Ordinance, or
i. ,ten annual installments, as provided in said section.
SEC TION 4.
In order to provide a fund for the immediate payment of the
cost of that portion of the said assessment which may be paid on the Ten
Year Payment Flan, the City of Paducah may issue and sell improvement

bonds; and, to secure the payment of said bonds, there is hereby pledged
such taxes and liens on the property assessed herein for the payment of j

the principal and interest, but such bonds shall not be sold for less than
spar and accrued interest, and the proceeds thereof applied exclusively in
payment of the improvement hereinbefore mentioned, and such bonds, if
issued, shall bear interest and shall be payable in accordance with the
provisions of Sections 3101 and .3102 of the lentucl)r Statutes.
SECTION 5.
This Ordinance shall take effect and he in :force after its
passage, record and publication.
