BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD CF COMA SSIONnES OF THE CITY OF �
IADUCAH, XSNTUCZY: I
SECTION 1.
That the Alley in Block 9 Old Town, running from Second Street
to Third Street, between Broadway and Jefferson Street, in the City of
Inducah, Kentucky, be constructed of concrete, or any other improved pav-
irg material, as may be determined by the Board of Commissioners as the
best and most economical material for the construction thereof, and that
all necessary manholes, catch basins, intakes and sewer pipe connections
be made, upon bids made therefor, and all to be done in strict accordance

with the plans, grades, specifications, widths and profiles prepared in

the office of the Commissioner of rublic Works, all of which are adopted
as a part of this Ordinance as fully as if embraced herein or attached
hereto and made a part hereof, marked "A" for more specific identifica-
tion.

SECT ION 2.
That said work shall be constructed under the direction and
supervision of the Commissioner of Public Works, and shall be commenced
at the time designated by contract for the performance of said '.work, and
completed on or before December lst, 1923.
SECTION 3.

The cost of such oonstruction of said work shall be paid for
wholly by the property owners abutting or fronting thereon, to b^ appor-
tioned to and assessed against the property and property owners abutting
thereon, according to the number of abutting feet thereon, except that
portion to be paid for by the City of Paducah, Kentucky, as required by

law.
SECTION 4.
The Contractor awarded the contract for the work herein, shall
be paid as provided in Sections 3096, 3100, .3101 and 3102 of the Kentucky
Statutes.
SECTION 5.
The Vayor is hereby authnrized and directed to execute all
written contracts and bonds with the successful bidder for the construe-

tion of said improvement, as required by lave.
SECTION 6.
Bids shall be received f,r the construction of said improve-
ment, according to the plans and specifications made and provided there-'
for by the Commissioner of Public 3orks, and the contract therefor shall
be awarded to the lowest and best bidder, except the right is expressly
reserved to reject any and all bids, .,iithin the discretion of the Board
of Commissioners, but they may accept any bid which is for the best
interest of the City of Paducah.
SECTION 7.
The Commissioner of Public Uorks is hereby given the right
and authority to advertise for bids for the construction of said im-
provement, but the manner of advertising and the time and place for
receiving bids shall be desi--nated by the Board of Commissioners.
S.:CTION 8.
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force ten (10)
days from and after its passage, record and publication.
