WAGONS, HORSES, CATTLE AND SHEEP ON THE CITY SCAT,ES, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR
VIOLATION OF THIS ORDI'ANCE.
Be it ordained by the General Council of the City of Paducah, Kentucky.,
Sec,l, That the following prices shall be charged by the City VIeigher
If the. City of Paducah, Kentucky, for weighing the hereinafter named articlesi
on the City Scales of the City of Paducah:
Four -(4) -horse vraGon a;,d lae,d twenty five(t),2_q) each
horse wagon and load fifteen ($0,15) cents etc ho
One (1) horsy wagon and load ten (4,",10) each,
Horses and cattle ten ($,10) each
iogs, sheep ar-d calves five ($,05) eac•io
Section 2-- It shall be the duty of each peruon , firm, eomponey or corpo ration,
seeking to have any of the ebove named artic les weighed upon the said city scales,
or the cwner of such articles weighed upon the city sco.les,-to pay to the city
v;eigher the prices charged as above set out, immediately after the same have been xnt.
weighed, and certificate of weight furnished by the city ivei gher; and any person
firm, compare or corporation, seeking to have ra* of said artic les wei ghed,
or owning said property which is so wei.ghed.- who shall refuse or fail to pay Rincx:
therefor as herein specified, - shall be fined not "'.ess than five $5) dollars
nor more tian ten($10) dollars i'or each offense.
Section 3------Tt s all be the duty of �i,e city v.eigher to inquire from the person
in charge or possession of hny or the articles or property sought to be weighed, -
as to who is the owner thereof, and if the person in ch rge or possession ti!ereof
at said time is not the owner thereo', the city weigher may,in his discretion,
require the owner thereof to furnis h him a statement or certificate, in writing,
,showing who is the owner of said property, and may refuse to permit said property or
articles tp be weighed until said certificate is furnis ed to him as above provided„
Section 4—This ordinance shell take effect from and after its
passage, approvo.l and publication,
