Be it ordained by the-eneral Council of the City of Paducah, Kentucky.
Sec.l.That Yeiser Avenue from Ashbrook Avenue to Hays Avenue; Powell street
from Jarrett street to the right-of-way of the Illinois Central RailRoad Com-
pany; Thurman Street from Sowell Avenue to Powell Street; Asiicraft Avenue from
Sowell Avenue to Powell Street, -in the City of Paducah, Kentu & yy bep and the
same are hereby ordered to be originally constructed of good cement gravel,,
suitable in all respects for such construction; rzll to be cone in strict
accordance with the plans, grades, a)ecifations, widths and profiles of the
City Engineer, made and o rovided. by him for sucu purpose; all of which_ are
adopted as a part of this ordinance as fully as if embraced--erein or attached
hereto and made a part ilereof, and are marred "A" for more speciYio id®ntvched

Sec.2. That said work shall be constructed under the direction board
of Vablic Works and the supervision of the City Engineer, and shall of the he

construction of said streets shall. be paid for wholly by the
property owners abutting or fronting thereon on both sides thereof, to be apportioned t
to and assessed against the property and property oviners abutting thereon on both aides
thereof, according to the number -of front feet abutting thereon, except the City of c
Paducah shall pay the entire cost of all intersections of streets and public alleys,
if any such there be, except that the City shall only pay on e -half of the.cost of
the construction of such street or alley which runs into but does not cross the street
or e.11ey being so improved,
See.4. The COmtractor awarded the contract for the work herein provided for, shall be �

paid only from the funds arising from the special tax bills issued aga,fnst the property
abutting or fronting the v.ork herein provided for, except that during the progress of
the work the contractor shall be paid monthly by improvement warrents in accordance ix
with the jestimates of the City Engineer, to the extent of sa.xty-five per cexnt(65%) Of

such improvement, and shall be payable at the office of the City Treasurer without
notice to the holder thereof;upon complection and acceptance of the improvement herein
providedf or, out of the first collection of such local or special taxes, or out of
the ptoceeds`of the -sale of any improvement bonds issued in anticipation of the
collection of such lacal..or special taxes. In no event shall the said City of Paducah
be liable for any sum of money to said contractor except as hereinbefore provided, and
except further, that the City Shall be liable to the contractor for such sum as may
exceed fifty per cert (500) of the value of a special tax bill issued against any
prop(V,,y abutting the improvement herein provided for,
