SEC.I.

constructed.
SEC. 2. Said sireets shall be constructed by §rac]eing same.
and placeing thereon good, clean gravel, and all O" said work to be done in
strict accordance with the plans, grades specifications, widths and profiles
of the city engineer, :Wade and pr'ovied by hinlfor :such pi rpose, and all. of
which are adopted as a part of this ordinance as fully as if. embraced herein
or attached hereto, and rade a part hereof, and 'are Marked A'for more spec-
ific identification.
SFC. j. Said work shall be constructed un(,er the diretion of
the board of public works and the supervision of the city engineer, and shall
be commenced at a time designated by contract for the peg ar:lacc; of said vo7K
and completed on or before October, Ist, Ic}I4.
SFC. 4. The cost of such construction of said streets shall W
paid for wholly by the property owners ai)uttin€:; or fronting thereon, on both
sides thereof, to be apportioned to and assessed against the property and prP.

to the number of feet fronting or abetting theron, except the city of paducah
shall pay for the entire cost of constructuon of all inter sections of street

SFC. 6. The contractor awarded the contract herein shall be paid.
monthly by improvement warrants issued by the city of paducah, upon estimates furnih
ed by the city engineer, to the extent of sixty-five per cent (65;x) of the value of
the work done by the con -tractor, during the .progress of the work, and said improve -
;dent warrants shall bear six per cent (6;b) interest from date of issUe, andshall be
issued by the city treasurer upon order of the 'general council. said improvement war:
rants shall be negotiable and shall constitute a lien on the local taxes to be here
after levied upon the property abutting- said improvements, for such improvements, an(!
shall be payable at the office of the city teasurer without notice to the holder
thereof, upon completion end. acceptance of the work herein provided for, out of the
first collection of such local taxes,or out of the proceede of the sale of any improe
meat bonds issued in anticipation of the collection of such local taxes. The interest
on such improvement warrants shall be estimated and assessed as a part of the cost of
the improved herein provided for.
SEC. %. Thiss—Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage, approval and publication.
