SEC - 3. Said work shall be constructed under the rlirectionof� the hoar
of public vrorks and the supervision of the city engineer, and shall be commenced at a
tine designatedby the contract for the performance of said work. and compleded on or
before september Ist, 1914.
S}:C. 4. THe cost of such construction of said sidewalks, curbs, gut.:
tees, together with all neccessary manholes, intakes, catch basins, sewers, and drivewra�
thex,efor, shall be paid for wholly by the property owners abutting or fronting thereon,,
on both sides thereof, to be apportioned to and assessed against the property and pro—
Perty owners fronting and abutting thereon, on both sides thereof, according to the nlm-
-ber of feet fronting or abutting; thereon , except thecorner lots abutting upon said
irgproven,ent ,hall pay for the entire cost of all intersections in addition to the con
struction immediately abutting said property , and the city of Paducah shall pr.y the
cost of con struction abutting all public alleys.
SRC. 5. THE contractor awarded the contract for the work herein provie
ed for shall be paid only from the funds arising`fron the special tax bills and assess—
"ents against the property abutting the improvement herein described , .?d in no other
-'ray, except that the said contractor may be paid out of such bonds as may be issued by
the city of pa.ducah, in accordance with the laws governing same, and forthe payment of
arhic}x the tax: bills and assessments of the property abuttint3 the herein desribed inpro
jivement nay be pledged by the city of Paducah; and in no event, shall the city of pad
Icah be liable to the contractor for the cost of the construction of said sidewalks, e;
sept the portion thereof abutting public alleys, and for the excess of 50.0 of the
value of any such inproved property assessed for the improvement hereinprovided for.
SI:C. 6. The contractor evarcled the contract herein shall be paid bj
monthly ir:lprovenent warrants issued by the city of Paducah, upon estimates fur nished
by the city engineer, to the extent of 651PI of the value of the work done by the contrc•.c
*tor during the pr-o,,ress of the work, and said improvement warrants shall bear 611 inter
est from date of issue, and shall be issued by the city treasurer upon order of the
t-enoral council. said iriprovement warrants shall be neCotiable and. shall constitute a
lien on the local taxes to be hereafter levied upon the property abutting said im—
provement, for the making of said improvement, and shall be payable at the office of t}
city treasurer, without notice to the holder thereof, upon completion andacceptance of
t}:e vrork herein provided for, out of the first collection of such local tm:es, or out
ofthe proceeds of the sale of any improvement bonds issued in anticipation or such 1oc-
I taxes, the interest on such improvement warrants shall be estimated and assessed c

bing , all of same to be done on the ten year payment plan.
