Kentucky, and prescribing, the penalties thereunder.
Be it ordained by the General Council of the City of Paducah, Kentucky:
Section 1 -That it shall be unlawful for any person to commit or perpatrate
any indecent, immodest, levid or filthy act in the presence or view of any other
person, or in such a situation that a person passing or re -passing might ordinarily
see the seine, or to utter or speak any bawdy, lewd or filthy word or discotr se

bition or exposure of 'ais or her person, or to procure any person or persons to do

any indecent, immodest, lascivious books, pamphlets, papers, pictures or statuary, I
Section 3 -That it shall be unlawful to post on the fences or walls or else-
whe:ce in the City of Paducah, or to expose or distribute anywhere in said City,
either .in the windows of .,stores or saloons or in any public or private house or
place in the City of Paducah, any picture of any female person with exposed gusts,
or pictures of men and women in improper dress or costume, or pictures of any per-
son cr persons in suggestive positions, or any indecent picture or pictures, 1

vrnether for advertising or for any other purpose, and the posting of auch pictures
or the distributing or exposing of any such picture or pictures is hereby pro- i

hibited.
Section 4 -Any person or persons, firms or corporations violating any of the
provisions of the foregoing two sections shall, upon conviction in the Police Court,
be fined in any sum not less than Fi ty Dollars, nor more than one Hundred Dollars,
and imprisoned in the City jail not less than Ten nor more than 60 days, or both so

in the City of Paducah, any cellar door, or cellar way or steps leading into any .
cellar, or any grating to any vault that is otherwise than level with the pavement,
and no door, cellar way nor steps leading into any cellar shall extend more than
four feet from the line of the adjoining lot.
It shall be unlawful for any person or persons, firm or firms, corporation or
corporations to permit his, their or its cellar door, cellar way or vault grating
on any street, alley or sidewalk in said City to be left open at any time, or in
such condition as to endanger persons passing by. All cellars E all be
dry, well aired, free from standing water and offensive odors during the
molhths of July, August and September, well sprinkled vrith lime or some CdE-
inf ectant when necessary, All persons or person, firm or firms, corporation
or corporations violating this Section shall be fined not less than Five
($5e00) Dollars nor more than Twnety (20,00) Dollars for each offense.
Section 6�It shall be unlawful for any person to disturb any ^ircus, shut
show or exhibition ------------- -----, by using profane, obscene lan-
guage, or by hissing, groaning, clapping of hands, stamping of feet, loud
hallooing or by making loud noises of any kind,
Any person or persons violating any of the provisions of this Section
shall be fined not less than Five (N5,00) Dollars nor more than Twenty ('20,00
Dollars for each offense,
Section -Any person who shall profanely curse or swear, or shall be
drunk within the City of Paducah shall be fined One Dollar for each of-
fense; and every oath shall be deemed a separate offense, .If either of the
offenses it this Section be )mmitted in the presence of the Judge of the
Paduca_: Police Court said Court may instantly , without further proof inflict

Section S -Any person who shall ride or drive any horse, mule or ox Or.
any street in the City of Paducah in any gait faster than an ordinary tro',
or pace, shall be fined therefor not less than Five Dollars nor mere than Ten
Dollars for each offense.
Section 9 -The flying of kites in the streets of the City of Paducah are
hereby prohibited, and -41gy person found guilty thereof shall b�T fined in cny
sum not less than One Dollar nor more than Five Dollars,
Section 10 -No person or persons shall ring a bell on the streets of the
CIty of Paducah to give notice of an auction or ot'fier assembly, except be-
fore the door of the place of the auction or assembly, and then only for
ten minutes,
Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be: fi:nednot
less than Two Dollars nor more than Ten Dollars for each offense.
Section ll -No person or persons, firm or firms, corporation or corpo-
rations shall give or sell to another any spirituous, vinous, malt or fer-
mented liquors in any theater, circus, show or exhibition of any kind vilat-
ever, or in any room where such theater, circus, show or exhibition is

or saloon, or sell such liquors on any day or days set apart for elections. Any
person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Section shall
be fined One Hundred Dollars for each offense.
Section 12 -It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge any swivel rifle, 1
shot gun, toy cannon, pistol. or other fire arms in the City of Paducah. But
nothing in this Section shall prohibit the the discharge of firearms by the militay
when training or on parade, and the Mayor and General Council may aut.,horize the dis-
c:large of firearms or cannon in commemoration of any important event; but nothing sc
herein shall be construed to prohibit hhe discharge of firearms by the Peace
Officers of the City of Paducah in the discharge of their duty in order to protect

any sum not less than Five Dollars nor more than Ten Dollars for each offense.
Section 13 -Any person or persons who shall throw stones, or flip pebbles; or

Section 14 -It shall be unlawful for any two or more common prostitutes to walk
or be in company together on any street, side -walk, ;°.Iley or other public thorouv,-

for any person to get up any Bance or carousal for idle or dissolute persons to at-

tend or frequent the same, or for any person of the male sex to ride or drive on
any of the streets, -alleys or other public thorou(nfares of said City in the night
or day time in company with any common prostitute. Ever! female who gains her liveli-
hood in w1lole or in part by the promiscuous prostitution of her body shall be deemed
a common prostitute. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this

Section 15 -Any person or persons wiio shall run or ride a velocipede, bicycle
or other vehicle of vike character upon any of the side -walks of the City of
Paducah, shall be fined therefor in any sum not less than Five Dollars nor more than

Section 16 -Whoever shall maltreat or abuse any work beast or other animal in
the City of Paducau by over -loading, excessive driving, beating maiming or excessive

Section 19 -It shall be unlawful for any person or persons, firm or firms

Section. 20 -It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to throw a ball
or play ball, or play at any game of ball in any street, alley, side -wales or,
unenclosed lot in the City of Paducah, -within 200 feet of any resid ence.
Any person or persons violating the provisions of this Section shall be fined

Section 21 -It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to loaf or to
loiter in any alley or on the steps or in the door -way or entrance to any

for the purpose of filling any office created by or existing under the Charter of the
City of Paducah,, Charter of Cities of the Second Class, of the State of Kentucky.

Such use of vehicles is hereby prohibited, whether run for hire or gratuitously. Any
voter may ride to the polls in :,is own vehicle, but he shall not carry another.
Persons may ride to the polls on street cars, if they pay their own fare. Any person
or persons, firm or firms, corporation or corp0l'iLLions violating any of the provisions

of tiii-s Section shall be fined in any sum not less than Ten Dollars nor more than
Tv:enty-five Dollars.
Section 25 -It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to walk over, lounge
or sit upon any "bridge, trestle oriincline of any railroed or depot company in the
City of Paducah, except the employees of suen corporation or company vLile in the
actual discharge of their duties. Any person or persons viol.e.tl.nr• eny of the provi—
sions of this Section shall be fired not less thanFive Dollars nor more than -:Ten
Dollars for each offense.
Section 26 -All Ordinances or, parts of QI-rdinances in conflict with this Ordl.nance
are Hereby repealed, and this Ordinance shall take effect from and alter its
passage, approval and publication.
