Be it ordained by the GenelCouxtcil Uf the City of Paducah,
.Kentucky.
Sec. 1. That sidewalks, curbs and gutters, togather with all necessary man-
holes, intakes, catch basins, sevrers and driveways therefor, on both sodes
of south fifth street front Kentucky Avenue to Jackson street, in the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, be, and the same are herebydered to be constructed.

Sec. 2. Said sidewalks and gutters shall be constructed of concrete material;
and the curbing therefor shall be of granite; and all of said work shall be
done in strict accordance with the plans, grades, specifications, widths and
profiles of the City Engineer, made and provided by him for such purpose,and
all of which are adopted as part of this ordinance as fully as if embraced
herein or attacked hereto, and 'the same are made a part hereof, and marked
"A" for more specific identification.
Sec. 3. Se, d;wprk�shall-be-constructed under the direction of, the. Board-.o.f
Public:l"rorks and. the Supervision- of -the City -Engineer, and shall.be:commenced
at;a timq designated by contract:for-the performltnce of said wbtk, and'com�,0`

Sec. 4. The cost of such construction of said Zidewalks, curbs and glitters,
with all necessary manholes, intakes, catch basins, servers and driveways thea
refor, shall be paid for wholly by the property owners abutting or fronting
thereon on both sides thereof, to be apportioned to and assessed against the
property and property owners fronting or abutting thereon on both sides there
of, according to the number of front feet abutting thereon, except tete corner
lots abutting upon said improvement shall pay the entire cost of all inter—
sections, in addition to the construction immediately abutting said property
and the City of Paducah shall pay the cost of construction abutting all
public alleys.
Sec. 5. The contractor awarded the contract for the work herein, provided,
shall be paid only from the funds arising from the spacial tax bills and
assessments against the property abutting the °pro eraent herein provided foV
and in no other way, except that t]te said contractor may bo paud out of such
bonds that may be issued by the City of Paduce,h in a
ecordance with the ;aws
govering same, and. for the payment of which the tax bills
and assessments of
the property abutting the herein described improvement, may be pledged by the

sec. 6. The contractor provided. for.
awarded the contract herein, shall be paid monthly by impro-

Engineer to the extent of sixty-five per cent (65'i') of the value of the work done by
the contractor, during the progress of the work, and said improvement warrents shall

bear six per cent (6c0) interest from (late of issue, by the City Treasurer upon_ order c
of the General Council, Said improvement warrents shall be negotiable, and shall
constitute e. lien on the local taxes to be hereafter levied upon the property abutt-
ing said improvement, and for the making of such improvement, and shall be payable at
the office of the City Treasurer Without notice to the holder thereof, Ppor, the
completion and acceptance of the Work herein providedsfor, out of the collections of
such local taxes, or out of the proceeds of the sale of any improvement bonds issued

in anticipation of the collection of such local taxes. The interest of such improve-
ment warrents shall be esti-mated and assessed as a part of the cost of the improve-
ment herein provided for.
Sec. 7. This Ordinance Shall take effect and be inforce from and after its passage,
approval and publication.
