Be it ordained by the General Council of the city of Paducah, Kontucky.
Sec. 1. That from and after. the passage, approval and publication of this
ordinance the Paducah Dry Docks Company (Incorporated), of the city of Paducah,
K::ntucky, a manufacturing concern proposin to erect and operat: Dry Docks in the
City of Paducah, Kentucky, — shall be cxo _,t from the payment of municipal
ad valorem taxes on said Dry Docks to the city of Paducah:, Kentucky, for a period
of five (5) years, subject however, to the following terms and conditions;—
First,— That the said Paducah Dry Docks Company (Incorporat_ 0 shall
at all. times during the five (5) year period, :nd after the passage, approval
and publication of this ordinance, continue to operate said Dry Docks with a
force o!' not less than ten (10) people; provided ftrther, that this condition shall
not apply when said Dry Docks are shut down., or closed dovnZ by reason of, or re—
sulting; from any accident, mishap, brca ka, e,of machinery, fires, unavoidable
casualties, strikes, riots, mobs, high wat:-,r, or such teriporaxy shut dorn as may
be neccessary to enable the said Paducah Dry D6cks Company (Incorporate�-� to
make contemplated chan{cs in the location of its machinery, or the Inst^vlla,tion
of new machinery, or other neccessary repairs or chanSes, or for such period
of time as the exigencies of the business operated by the said Paducah Dry Docks
Comp-ny (Incorporated) usually require in the conduct of an similar business.
Sec. 2. Should the said Pad cafi Dry Docks Company (Incorporated) Fail or
refuse at any time during said five (5) year period, to comply vrith all or any
o,: the conditions above enumerated in this ordine>nce, then said exomption from ad
valorem taxes herein granted, sh.a.11 cease irned.iatcly, and thereafter said
Paducah Dry Docl,:s Company (Incorporated) shall be liable for the payment of
taxes as if' this ordinance had never been adopted.
Scc..3. This ordinance shall take effect ane! be in force from and after

It appeasing the Vc 01107ring vrork is a, neccessity and desired by the property
to be improved, I move ths,i, t! 10 following streets be improved by laying thereon,
on both sides, concrete sidowallts ritl. ura.nite curb and concrete gutters, to wit.;
Broad street from Fourth street to the bridge to be erected over eross crock and
on South Sixth street from Broad street to the north line of the Franklin school,
and. fro. Bockmon street to Tennessee street. All the s^.id work to be done under
the Ten,Year Payment plan.
It appearing the the following vrork is a ncecessity cnd desired by the
property ovmers to be improved, be it Resolved that the follx,-iing work be ordered
under the ten ye,:,r plan, to .writ;
The improvmacnt of the Following streets by grading and graveling; material
to be used the same gravel usually prescribed b; the Board o- Public Works in
the construction of streets, viz; graveling of Powell street from Clements to
I. C. R. R- or Tipple track.,, and grading and graveling of Powell street from
I. C. R. R. or Tipple trackto Mill street; gre,ding and g'ravelinl; of ,Keiser Avenue
from Ashbrook to Hags Avenue, grading and graveling df Sowell .Prom AsHeraft to
