PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, BY GRADING AND GRAVELING SAIAE FROM TWELFTH TO FOURTEENTH
STREET.
Be it ordAined by the General Council of the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
Sec,l, That Flournoy Street in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be, and the same
id hereby ordered to be improved by grading and graveling t;ereof9 from
Twelfth (12the).street to Foutteenth (14th,) streeto
Sec,2, That said improvement shall be made of good cement gravel, siuitable in
all respects for such construction, and flIjall be done in strict accordance
with the plans, grades, sp®cifications, withs and profiles of the City Engineer
made and provided by him for such purposes all of Which are adopted as a part

of this ordinance as fu ly as if embraced,'4 attached hereto and made part here—
of and marked "A" for more specific identification,
Sec,3. That said work shall be constructed under thedirection of the Board of
;Public works and supervision of the City Engin:311r' and—shall—,be: commenced at' a
.time designated by contract for the performence of said vrork9 and completed on
or before 12 months after the passage, approval and publication of this
Ordinance,.
Secm4,•That the cost of such construction of
said street shall be paid for

of, to be apportioned to and asscLsed against the property and property owners abutir—
ing thereon on both sides thereof, according to the number of front feet abutting
thereon, except the City of Paducah shall pay the entire cost of all intersections
Of streets and public alleys, if any such there be, except that the City
shall only pay ene half of the coat of the construction of such street or alley
which runs into but does not cross Flournoy street herein ordered to be improved,
Sec,5, The contractor awarded the contract for the work herein provided for, shall
b.e paid only from the funds arising from the special tax bills issued against the
property abutting or fronttbng the work herein provided. for, except that during the
progress of the work the contractor shall be paid monthly in improvement Mi7rents
in accordance with the estimates of the City Engineer, to the extent of sixty-five
per cent (650) of the work p®rformad, and said improvement warrents shall be issued
by the City Troasurer upon order of the General Councils and shall bear 6`o interest
from date; of issual, and shall be negotiable, and shall constitute a lian upon the
local or special taxes levied upon the property abutting the work herein provided
for, for such improvement,, and shall be payable at the office of the City Treasurer
without notice to the holder thereof upon completion and acceptance of the improve-
ment herein provided for, out of the first collection of such local-or special
taxes, or out of the proceeds of the sale of any improvement bonds tissued in anticip�
ation of the collection of such local or special taxes, In no event shall the City
of Paducah be liable for any suss of money to said contractor except as herein pro-
vided, and except further, that the City shall be liable to the contractor for the
excess of fifty per cent (50%) of the value of any property assessed for the im-
provement herein provided for,
sec,6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage,
approval and publication,
