HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 5, Page 6, Ordinance Number 1082AN ORDINANCE FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF SEVENTH STREET FROM J4FFERSON STREET TQ'MADISON STREET BY RECONSTRUCTING AND REPAVING WITH BRICK THE SIDEWALK ON THE WEST SIDE OF SAMEIWITH EXCEPTIONS THEREUNDER. _17 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Be it ordained by the common council of the city of Paducah, Ky.- SE.O,-1,- That Seventh street be improved by reconstructing and repaving with brick the side -walk on the west side of Seventh street from Jefferson street to Madison streets on the proper grades,under the supervision and direction of the City Engineer or some person authorized by him,-provided,however, that there is excepted from the provisions of this ordinance as being already improved such portions of the said side -walk as may be in front of the Vaughan property,in front of the property of Mr. baker, -(formerly owned by Frank Parham, -)and from the corner of Jefferson and Seventk6treets to the south side of the alley Immediately in the rear of the property of L. M. Rieke.. That the said work of repaving and reconstructing of side -walk Shall be done at the exclusive Cost of the owner of ground fronting said west side of Seventh street, -the property named In section one hereof excepted, -the City of Paducah to be liable for no part of the cost of said improvement except at the Intersections of streets and public alleys,- SEC,- 3,- That the contractor shall use &11 suitable material now in or on the said walk, -the City Engineer to be the judge,- and Shall take the same Into account in making his bid for the work, SEC, -4,- That the said work shallbe completed by the first day of November 1901, -and this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passag/alnda ovalAdoptgC_1.- Approved,--- -----1901. ------- - --------- 1901.
