-- AN ORDINANCE FIXING OFFICE HOURS FOR THE MAYOR OF THE CITY, AND
DEFINING THE AMOUNT OF HIS SALARY.-

Whereasy the salary for the office of mayor is now the same as it was some
sixteen years in the past,and Whereaai the great growth of the city has
increased the demands upon the person who holds this officeeand, Whereas=
the city will at an early day enter the second class at which time the
duties of this office will be greater than at the present time, -therefore,-
go it ordained #"# by the common council of the city of Paducah, Ky.-
'SEC.61,- That the mayor of the city of Paducah shall keep regular office
hours,and these are here defined as follows towit:- He ohall be in his office
for the transaction of the public business of the city daily, -Sunday excepted* ,
from bine O'clock in the morning until noon, and from One O'clock P. N.until
Four O'clock P. M._ and he shall not enrage in any other business or occupa-
tion whabsoever,and shall give the affairs of the city his entire time and
attention.---
SEC,-2,- That the mayor shall be paid for his services as Such official the
Sum of x1600.00 per annum,payable in equal monthly installments out of the
city treasury. -
SEC, -3,- That this ordinance shall take effect from and after the expiration
of the term of the� pre nt incumbent.-
