'AN BRDINANCE REGULATING THE DISPOSAL OF CONTAGIOUS DISEASES, FUMIGATING
APARTMENTS AND GENERAL SANITATION, WITH NOTICE TO THE COUNTY OF THE
EXISTENCE OF SUCH CONTAGION, AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES.•
Be it ordtinod by the Common Council of the City of Paducah, Ky.,

SECTION -1- That when the Mayor of the City shall be notified of the exist-
enoe of any contagious or infectious disease, such as small -pox, yellow -
favor etc., in the City, he shall notfy the Health Officer of the City
at once of its existence and location, and said Health Officer shall give
notice to the County Judge of same. The Mayor and Health Officer shall
Immediately cause such case or oases of contagious disease to be removed
to the Eruptive Hospital or Pest House, And without unnecessary delay
, or shall Quarantine Bush oases against any or all other persons, oxcept
thoso who may have the said oases in charge.
SECTION -2- That when any such case of above mentioned contagious disease
shall have been removed to the Eruptive Hospital or Pest House, it shall
be the duty of the Health Officer to disinfect all exposed premises thorou-
gnly, and the Mayor, for the City , shall furnish all necessary material
for said disinfecting when Called upon by the Health Officer for same.
SECTION -3.• That the City shall pay for necessary labor in doing the dlefeo-
ting premises, but the cost of such labor shall not exceed $3.00, for any
residence or premises to be disinfected, and It shall be the duty of the
Mayor to employ and furnish to the Health Officer such labor, furrilshod
at the cost of the City.
SECTION -4- That the City shall not be responsible for any part of th0
Cost of the said disinfecting unless the provisions of this orCdnanoa
are carefully adhered to,
SECTION -•S- That when in the judgment of the Health .'finer it becomes
necessary in disinfectin3 premises to destroy beds clothing eto.,etc,',
the party performing such service shall take a careful inventory of si{oh
property destroyed and shall file the said inventory with the Adyor,
within five days thereafter,
SECTION -B- That upon a failure to comply with the, provisions of the ord-
Inanoe, the party or parties so offending shall be fined not less tt:=
three dollars nor more than five dollars for eaC4 offense.
SECTION -7- That all Ordinanoes and parte of ordinanoes in Conflict here-
with are hereby repealed and this ordinance shall take effeot from and
after its passage and approval.
