AT a called meeting of the Board of Commissioners, held in the
Council Chamber in the City Hall of Paducah, Kentucky, on Sept. 16th, 1916, upon
0011 of the roll the following answered their names: Burns, Haselip, Marton,
Wallace and Washington - 5. .
On motion by Member Marton. the amount of 45139.49 was allowed
and checks ordered issued for same for payroll, etc., carried upon call of the
roll by the following votes Yeas, Burns, Haselip, Marton, Wallace and Washing-
ton - 6.
On motion by the above, that the deputy assessor be allowed 460.00
per month during assessing time, carried upon call of the roll by the following

An opinion of Bagby & Martin and Goo. 0. JXigiud was presented
in written form.
On motion by Member Burne, that the ordinance providing for the
construction of a municipal water works be placed on passage us petitioned,
was amended by Mayor Haselip as follows : That the ordinance as submitted be
submitted to the people, and that the City bolioitor be instructed to prepare
said proposition in legal form so that Game will be pluoed upon the ballot,
carried upon call of the roll by the following vote: Yeas, Burns, Haselip,
Marton, Wallaoo and Washington - 5.

On motion by Member Burns, that the watorworke ordinance be placed
on its passage as petitioned, lost upon call of the roll by the following
vote: Yeas, Burns and Marton - 2. Paye: Haselip, Wallace and Washington - 3.
On motion the Board adjourned upon oall.of the roll by the following
vote: Yeas, Burns, Haselip. Marton, Wallace and Washington - 5.
