At a Regular Meeting of the Roard of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
of the City Hall, Paducah,. Kentuckv, at 7:30 P.M. on April 1$, 1967, Mayor Wilson
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners
Johnston, Kressenberg, Paxton, Puryear and Mayor Milson (5).
Mayor Wilson offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for April 11, 1967
be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be approved
as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston, Kressenberg,
Paxton, Puryear and Mavor Milson (5).
Commissioner Johnston offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Kressenberg, that
the following documents from the Paducah Independent School District concerning the
1967 school tax rate, be received and filed:
1. Letter regarding General Fund Levy and Resolution
2. Resolution and Certification for General Fund Levy
3. Resolution and Certification for Special Building Fund Levy
L. General Budget
5• Certification of Public Hearing
6. Copy of Newspaper Notice and Certification by
Sun -Democrat that notice was published
7. Copy of Notice of Public Hearing as posted on the
bulletin board at McCracken County Courthouse
$. Copy of Certified Assessment from the Department of Revenue
9. Copy of Tax rate Calculation from Department of Education
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston, Kressenberg, Paxton, Puryear
and Mayor Wilson (5).
/11 Commissioner Kressenberg offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Johnston, that
the executed copy of the Contract between the Citv of Paducah and G. Anthony Johnston &
Associates, for the preparation ofplans for construction of a new central fire station,
be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston,
Kressenberg, Paxton, Puryear and Mayor Milson (5).
Commissioner Kressenberg offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Johnston,
that the Certificate of Insurance issued by the United states Fidelity and Guaranty
Companv to the City of Paducah, covering work done by John P. Whitt for a period of
one year from April 12, 1967, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston, Kressenberg., Paxton, Puryear and Mayor
Wilson (5).
Commissioner Paxton offered motion,seconded by Commissioner Puryear as follows:
I move that the claims of United States Fidelity ✓r. Guaranty Company for reimbursement for
certain amounts paid by it to settle certain claims against the City, be allowed, and that
the Acting Citv Treasurer pay said claims to said Company after securing a full and

complete release. Said claims are as follows:

1. Claim of C.O.Hilton, 1629 Little Avenue for damages to his automobile by a city
vehicle on or about August 31, 1966 in the amount of $13.$8
i
2. Claim of Earl Dotson, Jr. 1429 Cumberland Avenue for damages to the paint on his
vehicle by rocks from a city spreader on or about September 9, 1966 amount of $74.86:
3. Claim of Ash Motors, 1214 Rroadwav, for damages to an automobile by a power line which
fell on said automobile, on or about November 17, 1966 in the amount of $101.90. i
4. Claim of Rohert Dillingham, 817 Main St. for damage to his automobile by a city Fire;
Department vehicle, on or about February 20, 1967 in the amount of $65.00

Commissioner Puryear offered motion that the petitions signed by numerous
persons protesting the relocation of the Colt League Baseball diamond, be received and
filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston, Paxton, Kressenbe
Puryear and Mayor Wilson (5).
Commissioner Purvear offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance: issued
by Royal Globe Insurance Companies to Crolley Construction Company, Inc. for a period
one year from April 3, 1967, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston, Kra ssenberg, Paxton, Purvear and Mayor Wilson (5).
Commissioner Johnston offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Kressenberg,
that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE LEVIES AND RATES OF TAXATION ON ALL
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, SUBJECT TO TAXATION FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES AN FOR
SCHOOL PURPOSES FOR THE YEAR 1967, WITH THE PURPOSES OF SAID TAXES THEREUNDER DEFINED",
be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston, Kressenberg,
Puryear and Mayor Wilson (4), Commissioner Paxton voted "No".
Commissioner Paxton offered motion,seconded by Commissioner Puryear that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF VASSEUR TRACTOR AND IMPLEMENT COMPANY
FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE NEW TRACTOR FOR USE IN THE PARKS, RECREATION AND CEMETERY
DEPARTMENTS, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE
MADE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston,
tre,,senberg, Paxton, Puryear and Miavor Wilson (5).
Commissioner Paxton offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear that an

ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE APPORTIONMENT OF THE PUBLIC FUNDS OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE YEAR 1967 AND APPROPRIATING THE PUBLIC REVENUE AND INCOME
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR SUCH PURPOSES", be introduced and remain on file for at least
one (1) Week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon
its final passare. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston,
Kressenberg-, Paxton, Puryear and Mayor Wilson (5).
Commissioner Puryear offered motion that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE
ACCEPTING THE BID OF DUNCAN PARKING METER CORPORATION FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF
FIFTY (50) PARKING M%TER HEADS, PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SUCH PURCHASE,
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE SAME", be adopted. The motion was seconded
by Commissioner Paxton and adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston,
Kressenberg, Parton, Purvear and Mayor Milson (5).
On motion the meeting adjourned.
