At a Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chambei
in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on June 24, 1969, Mayor Cherry
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commission-
ers Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the reading
of the Minutes for May 27 and June 10, 1969 be waived, and that the Minutes of said
meetings prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry made the following appointment: The term of office of Ed Hank as a
member of the Parks, Playground and Recreation Board of the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
having expired on May 14, 1969, I hereby, subject to the approval of the Board of
Commissioners, reappoint the said Ed Hank for a further term of four years, so that
said Board shall be composed of the following members:
Melvin Taylor whp.se term expires May 14, 1970
William Switzer whose term expires May 14, 1971
Rollie France whose term expires May 14, 1972
Anna Mae Holman whose term expires May 14, 1972
Ed Hank whose term expires May 14, 1973
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the
action of Mayor Robert C. Cherry reappointing Ed Hank as a member oslbhe Parks,
Playground and Recreation Board of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be approved.

Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the

Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the
bid of Katterjohn Concrete Products, the only bid received by the City for furnishing
the City with one (1) precast concrete bridge as was authorized by resolution
adopted May 27, 1969, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the
executed copy of the Contract between the City of Paducah and West Kentucky Paving
Company for surfacing a portion of a parking lot on the southeast corner of Kentucky
Avenue and Fourth street, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).

Commissioner McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the
e deed from Fred C. Johnson and his wife, Betty Johnson, dated May 31, 1969, conveying
to the City of Paducah a parcel of land at the southern end of Allen Lane, be
received, accepted and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that the
following bids for resurfacing Broadway from 13th Street to 28th Street, be received
and filed:

of the Northeast corner of Lot No. 317 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak
Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance
to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey,
Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the letter
from George P. Crounse, Secretary, Paducah Area Public Library Board, dated June 24,
1969, relative to the sale of the old library site, be received and filed. Adopted on

1. Arthur Trotter be employed as temporary laborer in the Refuse Division of the
Public Works Department, retroactive to June 16, 1969.

r J be accepted, effective June 23, 1969.
3. Harold Reynolds, temporary laborer in the Street Division of the Public Works
Department, be terminated, retroactive to June 20, 1969.
