At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 2:00 P.M. on June 10, 1969, Mayor Cherry
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioner
Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry,(5).
Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the executed
copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 2:00 P.M. on June 10, 1969, be
received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert
McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the
resignation of Mrs. Elizabeth D. Hemmer as a member of the City of Paducah Municipal
Housing Commission be received, filed and accepted with regret and that said resignatic
be effective as of this date. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey
Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry made the following appointment:
Mrs. Elizabeth D. Hemmer having resigned as a member of the City of Paducah
Municipal Housing Commission, I hereby, subject to the approval of the Board of
Commissioners, appoint James L. Munal, Jr. as a member of said Commission to fill the
unexpired term, so that said Commission shall be composed of the following members:
C. C. McDowell whose term expires July 22, 1969
Robert C. Massie whose term expires Juny 22, 1970
James L. Munal, Jr. whose term expires July 22, 1971
Ray H. Mullen, Jr. whose term expires July 22, 1972
Robert C. Cherry, Mayor and Ex -officio member
Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the
Board of Commissioners approve the action of Mayor Robert C. Cherry appointing James
L. Munal, Jr. as a member of the City of Paducah Municipal Housing Commission, to fill
the unexpired term of Mrs. Elizabeth D. Hemmer. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the
following personnel changes be made:
1. That Freddie Bundren, Jr. a mechanic helper in the Street Division of the
Public Works Department be put under civil service, effective June 16, 1969
2. That Thomas E. Forrester, a laborer in the Street Division of the Public
Works Department, be put under civil service effective June 16, 1969
3. That James Ligon, Jr. a mechanic helper in the Refise Division of the Publi
Works Department, be put under civil service effective June 16, 1969.
