At a Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4:00 P.M. on January 6, 1967, Mayor :9ilson
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commission-
ers Johnston, Kressenberp, Paxton, Purvear and Mayor Wilson (5).
The meeting was for the purpose of hearine charges preferred by Paul Holland,
Chief of the Police Department, against Herbert Herndon, a member of said Department.
Mayor Wilson offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Kressenberg, that Mrs.
Tommasina Bolser he, and she is hereby, named, appointed and designated as the
Official Reporter of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, to report and
transcribe the evidence and proceedings at the trial of Charges preferred against
Herbert Herndon by Paul Holland, Chief of the Police Department df said City. Adopted
on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Johnston, Kressenberg, Paxton, Puryear and
Mayor Wilson (5).
Hearing of I Mr. Herbert Herndon was represented by Counsel, Burt Terrell. William B. Bryd,
charges against
Herbert Herndon Corporation Counsel represented the complainant. After hearing all the evidence the

,j' Mayor and Commissioners retired to a conference room for deliberation.

Judgment
Mayor Wilson then offered the followinp motion which was seconded by Commissioner
Kressenberp: I move that the Board of Commissioners adopt the following findings
of fact and iudpment upon Charpes preferred by Paul Holland, Chief of the Police
Department of the City of Paducah, against Herbert Herndon, a member of said Department
The Board of Commissioners having heard the evidence upon Charges preferred against
the defendant, Herbert Herndon, a member of the Police Department of the City of Iaduca:
by Paul Holland, Chief of said Department, and being sufficiently advised, does now
hereby find and adjudge that said defendant is ruilty of the Charges of Inefficiency,
misconduct, insuhordination,and violation of rules adopted by the City Legislative Body
as charged, and it is now the iudgment of the Board of Commissioners that the defendant
Herbert Herndon, be, and he is herehv, suspended without pay for a period of sixty (60)
calendar days, effective immediately. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commission-
ers Johnston, Kressenberp, Paxton, Purvear and itavor Wilson (5).
On motion the meeting adiourned.
