Mathis Plumbing & Heating File bid on sewer pipe & accessories Extend time Boa of Equalization 265 At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 2:00 P.M. on December 27, 1968, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioner: Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 2:00 P.M. on December 27, 1968, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that upon recommendation of the City Manager the following personnel changes be made: 1. Tauber D. Tucker, Jr. be employed as electrical inspector, at a salary of $500.00 per month, effective January 2, 1969. 2. The salary of Jill McIntock, part time temporary clerk -typist in the Floodwal Department, be increased to $50.00 per month, effective January 1, 1969. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that exonerations prepared and delivered by the City Treasurer, being numbers 3425 through 3494 inclusive, be received and filed, and that the amounts of same totaling $5,892.70 be exonerated on the tax bills shown and designated by said exonerations. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear that the Certificate of Insurance issued by Potomac Insurance Company to the City of Paducah, covering work done by Herbert L. Mathis d/b/a Mathis Plumbing & Heating, for a period of one year from August 29, 1968, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that the bid submitted by Can -Tex Industries for sale to the City of sewer pipe and accessories, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Puryear offered motion seconded by Commissioner McNutt as follows: Pursuant to Section 29-26 of the Code of ordinances of the City of Paducah, I move that the time for completion of the work of the Board of Equalization be extended from four to six weeks or so much thereof as is necessary to complete their work, making the final date to be not later than January 11, 1969. Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the reporj ;e of the Paducah Water Works for the month of December be received and filed. Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that this / Commission receive and file letter of Paducah Area Ministerial Fellowship recommending repeal of city ordinances requiring registration of felons. Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that a Resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF FOUR (4) NEW 1969 FOUR -DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILES FOR USE IN THE POLIC] DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", b - adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). JCommissioner McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that a Resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NESS 1969 STATION WAGON FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt and Mayor Cherry (4), Commissioner Puryear voted "No". ry.
