At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M, on November 26, 1968,
Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their
names: Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4), Commissioner
McNutt being absent.
Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the
reading of the Minutes for November 12 and 19, 1968 be waived and that the Minutes
of said meetings prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the
letter dated November 25, 1968, from the Paducah Power System to R. H Overstreet,
City Manager, declaring the total cost for improving the street lighting in the
Oaklawn Concentrated Code Enforcement Project Area to be $9,845.82, be received and li
filed together with the attached copy of the cost estimate, and that the said amount
be approved. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert,
Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that
Charles Bradshaw be employed as temporary laborer in the Refuse Division of the
Public Works Department, at a salary of $1.90 per hour, effective December 2, 1968.
Adopted on call of the roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor
Cherry (4).
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert that the
following bids for furnishing the City with uniforms and uniform service for the
Refuse Division personnel, be received and filed:
Paducah Laundry & Cleaners, Inc.
Rental Uniform Service
Chas. Todd
White Rose Industrial Laundry
Adopted on call of the roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor
Cherry (4).
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert that the
Bond on the roof of the Central Fire Station at 3rd and Washington Streets, be
received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey,
Lambert, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a
resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR PIPE AND ACCESSORIES TO BE USED IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF
SANITARY SEWERS", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4).

Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF AN ALLEY IN THE BLOCK BOUNDED
BY SOUTH 6TH, HUSBANDS, SOUTH 7TH AND CALDWELL STREETS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey,
Lambert, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Harvey offered motioh, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF PADUCAH LAUNDRY & CLEANERS, INC.
FOR FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH UNIFORMS FOR THE REFUSE DEPARTDIENT PERSONNEL,
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT", be introduced and remain
on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in
which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4).
Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY BY ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE WEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF
SAID CITY, AND DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SAID PROPERTY TO BE INCLUDED
WITHIN SAID CORPORATE LIMITS", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas
Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4).
On motion the meeting adjourned.
