At -a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 3:00 P.M. on August 7, 1968, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to the'3 names: Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Mayor Cherry offered motion that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 3:00 P.M. on August 7, 1968, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the following personnel changes be made: 1. James Aiken be employed as a temporary laborer in the Street Division, / retroactive to July 31, 1968, at a salary of $1.90 per hour. 1/ 2. Loree Cawthon, a laborer in the Refuse Division, be advanced to truck driver in said division, retroactive to August 1, 1968, at a salary of $2.13 hour. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). / Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the executed copy of the Contract between the City of Paducah and Vasseur Tractor and Implement Company, dated August 3, 1968, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Sledd Funeral Home of the Northeast corner of Lot No. 365 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). on Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the Resolution of the Commissioners of Water Works requesting a rate increase in charges to be made for sale of water together with the letter of transmittal from H. B. Gibbon Secretary of the Commissioners of Water Works, to the Mayor and Commissioners certifyi that the resolution was duly proposed, seconded and unanimously passed, be received an filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that tha liability insurance policy issued by State Automobile Mutual Insurance Company to V.L. Chandler d/b/a Chandler Plumbing Company for a period of one year from August 3, 1968, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Collir Electric Plant Board Bond Issue Accept bid Allan Rhodes, Inc. on Refuse truck C Accept bid of Goodyear on ti ' Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that the liability insurance policy issued by The Aetna Casualty and Surety Company to Bobby Butler d/b/a Bobby Butler Concrete, for a period of one year from July 27, 1968, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). / Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that the I letter of Gene E. Hatfield, Vice President of Edward T. Hannan & Associates, Inc. consulting engineers, to the Board of Commissioners, certifying that the recommended rates for water charges will not adversely affect the bonded indebtedness of the City of Paducah on behalf of the Water Works, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a Resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A LEASE TO WILLIAM E. COLLINS A CERTAIN HOUSE AND LOT IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, KNOWN AS 1611 PARK AVENUE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE APPROVING, RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING A RESOLUTION OF THE ELECTRIC PLANT BOARD OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, WITH RESPECT TO THE ISSUANCE OF ELECTRIC PLANT BOARD REVENUE BONDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,000.000 FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING ADDITIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS TO THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC PLANT, SUCH BONDS TO BE PAYABLE, BOTH PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST, SOLELY FROM THE NEP REVENUES OF SAID ELECTRIC PLANT", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF ALLAN RHODES, INC. FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE NEW 1968 FORD C750 TRUCK AND 16 CUBIC YARD GARWOOD PACKER BODY FOR USE BY THE REFUSE DIVISION OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING CONDITION! UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF GOODYEAR SERVICE STORES FOR FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH ITS REQUIREMENTS OF NEW AUTOMOBILE AND TRUCK TIRES FOR THE PERIOD OF TIME FROM AUGUST 1, 1968 TO JULY 31, 1969, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be introduced and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put No 218 Proceedings of aoa rA of rommissioners City of Paducah____August_7, 1968 upon its final passage. Create Paducah Commissioner McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner P uryear, that Council for preservation / an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CREATING AND ESTABLISHING THE PADUCAH COUNCIL of Buildings & Antiquitiei FOR THE PRESERVATION OF BUILDINGS AND ANTIQUITIES, AND PRESCRIBING CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP AND DUTIES OF MEMBERS", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Appoint Council Mayor Cherry made the following appointments: I hereby appoint the following Preservation Buildings &�/ persons as members of the Paducah Council for the Preservation of Buildings and Antiquities Antiquities for terms of two (2) years each: Royce Gregory i Dr. C. F. Sullivan Robert C. Morrow Virginia Ithouri Leslie Feast Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the action of Mayor Robert C. Cherry appointing Royce Gregory, Dr. C. F. Sullivan, Robert C. Morrow, Virginia Khouri and Leslie Feast as members of the Paducah Council for the Preservation of Buildings and Antiquities, be approved. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Mayor Cherry offered the following motion, which was seconded by Commissioner Puryear. I move that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN INCREASE IN THE WATER RATES AND MINIMUM CHARGES FOR WATER SERVICE TO ALL CUSTOMERS OF THE PADUCAH WATER WORKS BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND FIXING THE WATER RATES AND MINIMUM CHARGES FOR SUCH SERVICE AND PROVIDING THAT NOTHING IN THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE CONSTRUED TO AFFECT THE EXISTING CONTRACTS BETWEEN THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND ANY WATER DISTRICTS EXCEPT AS PROVIDED AND PERMITTED IN SAID CONTRACTS; AND FURTHER PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT WITH THIS ORDINANCE", be adopted.
