II At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
I of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on July 9, 1968, Mayor Cherry
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners
Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).

The motion was seconded by Commissioner Harvey and adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,

Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for June 25, 1968 be
waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be approved as
written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt,

B. Larry Owen be employed in the Street Division of the Public Works
Department, as a temporary laborer, retroactive to July 5, 1968,
at a salary of $1.90 per hour.

Commissioner McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the
Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Mundy Funeral Home
of Grave No. 6 of Lot No. 268 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove
Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to
said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey,
Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that the
Audit Report of the Paducah Airport Corporation for the year ended December 31, 1967,
be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey,
Lambert, Puryear, McNutt and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that the
reports of the Paducah Water Works for the month of June, 1968, be received and filed.

Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that the
following bids for a tractor for use in the Street Department, be received and filed:

Commissioner McNutt offered motion that a Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION
REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR ONE (1) REFUSE PACKER AND TRUCK
FOR USE IN THE REFUSE DIVISION OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING THE
TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted. The motion
was seconded by Commissioner Puryear, and adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED 'AN
ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE NUMBER, RANKS AND MONTHLY SALARIES OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH', WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS ON AUGUST 5, 1952, AND AMENDED ON MAY 22, 1968", be adopted. Adopted
on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor
Cherry (5).
