Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Pedumh April 30, 1968
At a Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chambe
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 3:100 P.M. on April 30, 1968, Mayor Protem
McNutt presided and upon call of the Roll, the following answered to their names:
Commissioners Lambert, Harvey, Puryear and Mayor Protem McNutt (4), Mayor Cherry
being absent.
Mayor Protem McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that
the executed copy of an Agreement by the City Commissioners for a Special Meeting
of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, tobe held on April 30, 1968
at 3:00 o'clock p.m., be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Harvey, Lambert,Puryear and Mayor Protem McNutt (4).
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that
Robert H. Overstreet, City Manager, be assigned the additional duty of Acting City
Treasurer during his service as City Manager and until further action of this Board
appointing and hiring a permanent City Treasurer. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor Protem McNutt (4).
Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the
following documents from the Paducah Board of Education concerning the 1968 tax rate
for school purposes, be received and filed:
1. Letter regarding General Fund Levy and Resolution
2. Resolution and Certification for General Fund Levy
3. Resolution and Certification for Special Building Fund Levy
4. General Budget
5. Copy of Certified Assessment from Department of Revenue
6. Copy of Tax Rate Calculation from Department of Education
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor

Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the
executed copy of the Contract between the City of Paducah and Noble Park Funland, Inc.
be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey,
Lambert, Puryear and Mayor Protem McNutt (4).
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the
reports of the Paducah Water Works for the month of April, 1968, be received and filed

Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the
Certificate of Insurance issued by The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to
Ray Black & son and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for a period of one year from
April 15, 1968, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor Protem McNutt (4).
Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by commissioner Harvey, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SALARY OF THE JUDGE OF THE POLICE COURT
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH; PROVIDING FOR PAYMENT OF SUCH SALARY; AND REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,

Annex property ✓ Mayor Protem McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that
adjacent to
Junior College an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING
ADJACENT TO THE SOUTHWEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, IEFINING
ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED, AND DECLARING
THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF SUCH ANNEXATION", be adopted. Adopted on call
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor Protem McNutt (4)
Tax Levy -1968 ✓ Mayor Protem McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that
an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE LEVIES AND RATES OF TAXATION ON ALL
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, SUBJECT TO TAXATION FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES
AND FOR SCHOOL PURPOSES FOR THE YEAR 1968, WITH THE PURPOSES OF SAID TAXES THEREUNDER
DEFINED", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey,
