Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the reading of the Minutes for March 26, 1968 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5),I i 9 / Mayor Cherry made the following appointment: I hereby appoint Leon Holland a member of the Human Rights Commission, for a term of one year from March 26, 1968. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). ]ell Mayor Cherry made the following appointment: Pursuant to Section 6 of the Ordinance adopted May 26, 1964 creating a Human Rights Commission, I, Robert C. Cherry, Mayor, hereby appoint E. W. Whiteside, a member of said Commission, as Chairman thereof, for an indefinite term. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the IV V following personnel change be made: 1. Edgar Carson, an Applicant -Candidate in the Fire Department, has Satisfactorily completed the 60 day training period as such Applicant - Candidate as provided by ordinance, he is hereby appointed a fireman in the Fire Department, at a salary of $385.00 per month, retroactive to April 1, 1968. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the i Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Classie Sowell of the northeast corner of Lot No. 368 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be directed to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). i Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the Deed dated March 27, 1968, from T. D. Walters and wife, Virginia Walters, to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, which has been recorded in Deed Book 496, page 448, McCracken County Court Clerk's office, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). 171 Pioceedingsof Board of Commissioners city of Paducah April 9,_1968 Deed from Edsoni Commissioner McNutt offered motion, seconded by commissioner Puryear, that Hart & Bettie Toof Hart the deed dated April 1, 1968 from Edson Hart, Jr. and Bettie Toof Hart to the City i of Paducah, Kentucky, which has been recorded in Deed Book 496, page 450, McCracken County court Clerk's office, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Liability ins. Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that the Ellis & Thomason, Inc. Certificate of Insurance issued by The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to EL is I & Thomason, Inc. for a period of one (1) year from April 1, 1968, be received, approved and filed. McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). i File bid Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that the Amusement Facilities bid submitted by Noble Park Funland, Inc. for the operation of amusement facilities Noble Park in Noble Park, be received and filed. Water Works � Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that Reports Sewer & Refuse the reports of the Paducah Water Works for the month of March, 1968, be received and i filed. File bid food,,, ✓ Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the bid drink & refresh- ment in Noble submitted to the City of Paducah by J. E. Staley and M. R. Staley for the concession Park for food, drink and refreshment in Noble Park, including th- swimming pool, be i received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, I Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). i File application Commissioner McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a Project Grant ' Older American resolution entitled "A:"RESOLUTIOIS AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF THE ' Act I PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, TO FILE AN APPLICATION FOR A PROJECT GRANT UNDER TITLE III OF THE OLDER AMERICANS ACT, AND AUTHORIZING THE I MAYOR TO MAKE ALL REQUIRED ASSURANCES OF COMPLIANCE WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, EDUCATION AND WELFARE REGULATIONS UNDER TITLE VI OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1964", be adopted.
