HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 26, Page 165, March 12, 1968Board of Commissioners Proceedings of City of Paducah March 12 1968 File bids on P police uniforms 165 At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on March 12, 1968, Mayor Protem McNutt presided in the absence of Mayor Cherry, and upon call of the roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor Protem McNutt (4). Mayor Cherry being absent (1). Mayor Protem McNutt offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for February 27, February 28 and March 5, 1968 be waived and that the Minutes of said meetings prepared by t;te City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor Protem McNutt (4). Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the bids for uniforms for the Paducah Police Department from United Tailors, Universal Uniform Company, Inc. and Kay Uniforms, together with the letter of Police Chief, Paul Holland, to the Mayor and Commissioners, recommending acceptance of the bid of Kay Uniforms of Nashville, Tennessee, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor Protem McNutt (4). Letter Norman Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the Sullivan Fire i Truck -Museum I� letter dated March 8, 1968 from H. Norman Sullivan, Curator, William Clark Market i i House Museum, expressing appreciation to the Board of Commissioners for the fire truck I which has been placed on display in said Museum, be received and filed. Adopted on 1 call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor Protem McNutt (4). I, File deed Guthrie Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that this May - Open Space /' land ',I ` Commission receive, approve and file deed dated March 4, 1968 from Guthrie May and wife, I� I Alice May to the City of Paducah conveying property adjoining Brooks Stadium Park, whivh I i deed has been recorded in Deed Book 495, page 634, McCracken County Court Clerk's office. I Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Mayor Protem McNutt, that the, West Kentucky Paving Co. Certificate of Insurance issued by Maryland Casualty Company to Harold L. Jones & Don C. Plat "Bradford 00 Square" Vander Boegh, Jr. d/b/a West Kentucky Paving Company, for a period of one year from March 16, 1968, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor Protem McNutt (4). Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE FINAL REPORT OF THE PADUCAH PLANNING COMMISSION RESPECTING THE SUBDIVISION OF PROPERTY BETWEEN HUSBANDS AND CALDWELL STREETS, AND BETWEEN 6TH AND 7TH STREETS, AND SUBDIVIDING SAID PROPERTY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert Puryear and Mayor Protem McNutt (4). Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF KAY UNIFORMS FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF CLOTHING ITEMS FOR MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAME", be introduced and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor Protem McNutt (4). Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE FINAL REPORT OF THE PADUCAH PLANNING COMMISSION RESPECTING THE REZONING OF PROPERTY ON THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE INTER- i SECTION OF 8TH AND HARRISON STREETS, AND AMENDING THE PADUCAH ZONING ORDINANCE -1961 SO AS TO EFFECT SUCH REZONING", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor Protem McNutt (4). Mayor Protem McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE SOUTHWEST COR?ORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED, AND DECLARING THE EESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF SUCH ANNEXATION", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor Protem McNutt (4). On motion the meeting adjourned.
