Massie appointed Mun Housing Commission Approve appointment Robert C j Massie Housing Com Pay Guthrie May land fo: open space At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on March 5, 1968, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 7:30 p.m. on March 5, 1968, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the resignation of Rev. W. G. Harvey as a member of the City of Paducah Municipal Housing Commission, be received, accepted and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Mayor Chcrry made the following appointment: Rev. W. G. Harvey having resigned as a member of the City of Paducah Municipal Housing Commission, I hereby, subject to the approval of the Board of Commissioners, appoint Robert C. Massie as a member of said Commission for the unexpired term of the said Rev. W. G. Harvey, so that said Commission as now constituted shall be composed of the following members: Ray H. Mullen, Jr. whose term expires July 22, 1968 C. C. McDowell, whose term expires July 22, 1969 Robert C. Massie, whose term expires July 22, 1970 Elizabeth D. Hemmer, whose term expires July 22, 1971 Robert C. Cherry, Mayor, ex -officio member Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the Board of Commissioners approve the action of Mayor Robert C. Cherry appointin, Robert C. Massie as a member of the City of Paducah Municipal Housing Commission for t unexpired term of Rev. W. G. Harvey. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commission- ers Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert as follows: I move that the letter of Guthrie May and Alice G. May to Joe C. Marshall authorizing Joe C. Marshall to act as trustee for disbursing funds paid by the City of Paducah for the purchase of land from Guthrie May and Alice G. May, be received and filed; and I further move that the City Manager be instructed to prepare a check payable to Joe C. Marshall, Trustee, from the Cumulative Public Works Reserve Fund, in the amount of $37,500.00 for final payment in full for the purchase of land autljorized by ordinance, passed February 21, 1966, and of record in Ordinance Book 16, page 474. The services of Alvin York as a part time inspector in the Building Inspector's office be terminated, effective February 29, 1968 Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). , Sell grave in Commissioner McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the Rushing Addition's Beulah Thomas i Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Beulah Thomas of the southwest corner of Lot No. 367 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak i Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Leona Shelby / Commissioner McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that City Assessor V� LOST I Leona Shelby, appraiser in the Assessor's Office, be promoted to Chief Assessor i in said office, under civil service, retroactive to March 1, 1968, provided however, that such employment shall be probationary for a period of six (6) months from date and provided further that should any action be taken during said six months' period ' to remove her from the position of Chief Assessor, she will automatically revert to her civil service classification and position as appraiser. Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that the Gulf Oil Corp. i executed copy of the contract between the City of Paducah and Gulf Oil Corporation i for sale to the city of its requirements of petroleum products through December 31, 1968, be received and filed. Liability Ins. &/ commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by commissioner McNutt, that the i Bond J.C.Burgess �/ Certificate of Insurance issued by The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to J.C.Burgess and the City of Paducah for a period of one year from February 21, 1968, together with Bond in the amount of $1,000.00 dated February 21, 1968, be received, i approved and filed. S. CORPS OF ENGINEERS TO CONSTRUCT A LAKE ON THE WEST FORK OF CLARKS RIVER NEAR SYMSONIA" be adopted. Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF $2,582.19 TO ALLAN RHODES, INC., TO COMPENSATE FOR DAMAGE TO POLICE CARS NOS. 1, 2, 4, 5 AND 10 AUTHORIZED TO BE TRADED TO SAID ALLAN RHODES, INC., UPON NEW MOTOE VEHICLES, BY ORDINANCE ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON OCTOBER 24, 1967", be adopted. Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE REPEALING AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED 'AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CREATION AND ESTABLISHMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICE, AND THE POSITIONS OF DIRECTOR AND ASSISTANT DIRECTOR THEREOF', WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY j THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON JANUARY 3, 1966", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). i Commissioner McNutt offered motiom, seconded by Commissioner Puryear that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE THROWING OR DEPOSITING OF LITTER IN j i PUBLIC PLACES IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; REGULATING THE DISTRIBUTION OF COMMERCIP AND NON-COMMERCIAL HANDBILLS; CONTROLLING THE DEPOSITING OF LITTER ON PRIVATE PREMISES) PROVIDING A LIEN FOR CITY CLEARANCE; AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF IT$ PROVISIONS", be adopted.
