HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 26, Page 155, February 21, 1968155 IPmceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah February 2t. 1968 — — At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4:30 P.M., C.S.T. on February 21, 1968, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4). Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4:30 P.M. on February 21, 1968, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4). Commissioner Lambert offered motion seconded by Commissioner McNutt that the driver St Dept following personnel changes be made: Terminate 1. Robert Reed, laborer in the Street Division of the Public Works Patsey A Bennett '� Department, be promoted to truck driver in said department, Pat Childers u/ effective March 1, 1968. Parks & Rec. 2. The following persons in the Parks & Recreation Department be terminated, effective February 29, 1968: Patsy Ann Bennett Pat Childers Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4). Bond of Heather (/ Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that Hill Subdivision the $25,000.00 Subdivision Bond of Heather Hill, Inc. with United States Fidelity and j Guaranty Company as Surety, guaranteeing to the City of Paducah the completion of th- improvements and installations in the Heather Hill Subdivision, be received, approved jl and filed, and I further move that a copy of this motion and approval be furnished the j Paducah Planning Commission so that the Executive Secretary may execute the Plat Release for same. File Audit �r Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by commissioner McNutt, that the Report for 1967: Audit Report of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for the year ended December 31, 1967, .I which was prepared by Cotton & Allen, Certified Public Accountants, be received and filed. Commissioner McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN LAND FROM T. D. WALTERS AND HIS WIFE, VIRGINIA WALTERS, FIXING THE PURCHASE PRICE OF SAME, AND PROVIDING FOR THE TERMS AND PROVISIONS OF SUCH PURCHASE", be adopted. Adopted on cal of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, McNutt and Mayor Cherry (3), Commissioner Puryear voted "No". Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO ESTABLISH A ROAD BLOCK FOR THE PURPOSE OF SOLICITING MINEY OR TO SOLICIT MONEY FROM OCCUPANTS OF VEHICLES IN A LINE OF TRAFFIC, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF", be adopted. Adopted i on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4). Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN LAND FROM GUTHRIE MAY AND HIS WIFE, ALICE MAY, FIXING THE PURCHASE PRICE OF SAME, AND PROVIDING FOR THE TERMS AND PROVISIONS OF SUCH PURCHASE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4). Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that an ordinance I entitled "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REGULATION, LICENSING AND INOCULATION OF DOGS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; PROVIDING FOR THE EMPLOYMENT OF VETERINARIANS TO I ISSUE LICENSES FOR THE KEEPING OF DOGS; PROHIBITING THE OWNERS OR KEEPERS OF DOGS FROM ALLOWING SUCH DOGS TO BE AT LARGE; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES MN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING A SEPARABILITY CLAUSE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Lambert, i McNutt, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4). i Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner McNutt, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF ONE MILLION TWO HUNDRED SEVENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,270,000.00) PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF CITY OF PADUCAH VOTED PUBLIC FACILITIES BONDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FUNDS TO ACQUIRE CERTAIN PROPERTY KNOWN AS FOREST HILLS; ORDERING AND PROVIDING FOR THE LEVYING OF AN ANNUAL TAX SUFFICIENT TO PAY THE INTEREST ON AND THE PRINCIPAL OF SAID BONDS, TO THE EXTENT THAT FUNDS ARE NOT OTHERWISE AVAILABLE TO MEET SUCH REQUIREMENTS; PRESCRIBING THE FORM OF SAID BONDS; PROVIDING FOR THE VALIDATION OF 157 IProceedin9soF Board of Commissioners chyofPaducah February 21, 1968 - OF SAID BONDS BY THE McCRACKEN CIRCUIT COURT AS REQUIRED BY LAW; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLIC SALE OF SAID BONDS", be adopted.
