At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chambe
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentuckv, at 7:30 P.M. on July 23, 1963, Mayor Cherry pre-
sided and upon call of the Roll the following, answered to their names: Commissioners
Fendley, Cholson, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (4), Commissioner Hornsby being absent (1).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for July 9, 1963
be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be approved
as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson,
Karnes and Mayor Cherry (4).
Mayor Cherry made the following appointments: It appearing that the term of
office of Howard Woodall, as a member of the Urban Renewal & Community Development
Agency, expired on February 23, 1963; subject to the approval of the Board of Com-
missioners, I hereby reappoint Howard Woodall for a term of four years, expiring
February 23, 1967; and appoint William H. Gill to fill the unexpired term of Nat Dortch
for a term expiring February 23, 1965; so that said board as now constituted shall be
composed of the following members:
G. Anthony Johnston for a term expiring. February 23, 1964
William W. Foster for a term expiring February 23, 1964
William H. Gill for a term expirine February 231965
Noble Clark for a term expiring February 23, 1966
Howard Woodall for a term expiring February 23, 1967
. , Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the
action of Robert C. Cherry, Mayor, reappointing Howard Woodall and appointing William
H. Gill as members of the Urban Renewal and Community Development Agency. Adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (4).

Donald Lee Commissioner Fendley offered the following motion: It appearing from the report

Fireman h of Ed Turner, Fire Chief, that Donald Lee Watson, an Applicant -Candidate in the Fire
I� Department of the City of Paducah, has satisfactorily completed the sixty day trial
period as such Applicant -Candidate as provided by ordinance, I now therefore move
that the said Donald Lee Watson be, and he is hereby, appointed a fireman in the Fire

Department at a salary of $280.00 per month, effective AuPust 1, 1963 at 6:40 o'clock

Commissioner Gholson offered motionthat the reports of the Paducah Water W
received and filed, and that the following checks be turned over to the City Tres
to be deposited in the proper accounts:
Refuse collections for June 1963 $9,113.15
Sewer Service Charges for June 1963 9,195.00
Bad Accounts collected during June 1963 17.00

Commissioner Gholson offered the following motion: It appearing from the
of Ed Turner, Fire Chief, that Gladman C. Humbles, an Applicant -Candidate in the I
Department of the City of Paducah, has satisfactorily completed the sixty day tris
period as such Applicant -Candidate as provided by ordinance, I now therefore move
the said Gladman C. Humbles be, and he is hereby, appointed a fireman in the Fire
meat at a salary of $280.00 per month, effective August 1, 1963 at 6:41 o'clock A.

Commissioner Karnes offered the following motion: It appearing from the re

Commissioner Karnes offered motion that the executed copy of the Contract b

1963 Ford -300 automobiles, for use in the Police Department, be received and filed
