At a Regular Meeting of the Poard of Commissioners held in the Commission Chambe
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on November 9, 1965, Mayor Wilson
presided and upon call of the Roll the followinr answered to their names: Commissioners
Davis, Hornsby, Kressenberr, Parrott and Mayor Wilson (5).
Mayor Wilson offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for October 26 &. 28.,
196{ be waived and that the Minutes of said meetinr prepared by the City Clerk be
as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Hornsby, Kra
Parrott and Mayor 'Wilson (5).
Commissioner Davis offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that Sol
Beckenhaurh be promoted to the position of Captain in the Fire Department of the City,
effective November 16, 1965. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis,
Hornsby, Kressenberg and Parrott (4), Mayor Wilson voted "No".
Commissioner Davis offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, as follows:
It appears that Roy Hoewischer, owner and developer of property fronting on Lillian
Avenue, desires an extension of a 6 -inch water main from Pines Road to Minnich Avenue,
to provide domestic water service and fire protection in this area, and to provide
proper circulation of water for fire protection the Commissioners of Water Works desire
to extend an 8 inch main from the existine 6 inch main in Central Avenue to this
6 inch main in Lillian Avenue, a distance of 400 feet.
I therefore, mobe that the petition of the aforementioned property pwner, and t'.
recommendation of the Commissioners of Water Works, be received and filed, and that
the Paducah Water Works, through its Board of Water Commissioners, be authorized to
extend the water mains as requested, and to install fire hydrants as necessary to
provide fire protection in the area.
j I further move that the adoption of this motion be considered an arreement on the
part of the City of Paducah to pay fire main and hydrant rentals, as provided in the
franchise, or, the water mains and hydrants referred to above, said rentals to begin
wion mains and hydrants have been installed and placed in service. Adopted on call of

recognizes the Economic Opportunity Council of Paducah and McCracken County as the oflic
croup responsibly for the development and coordination of all Economic Opportunity Act
programs in Paducah and McCracken County.
The City Commission also agrees to pay two-thirds of the ten percent local
contribution necessary to finance the administrative cost of the Economic Opportunity
Council, such City contribution not to exceed $2,210.00 durinc the next 12 months.
