At an Adjourned Regular Meetine of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 5:00 P.M. on April 30, 1963, Mayor Cherr}
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners
Fendley, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (4), Commissioner Gholson being absent (1).
Commissioner Fendley offered the following motion: I move that Donald Lee Watson be
employed as an Applicant -Candidate for employment as a Fireman in the Fire Department of
the City at a salary of $270.00 per month, effective May 16, 1963, provided by such time
he furnishes, at his expense, a satisfactory medical report as to his physical condition,
including an electrocardiogram.
This employment is made under the provisions of an ordinance providing for such
employment adopted April 27, 1962 by the Board of Commissioners, and is subject to all
terms, conditions and provisions contained therein. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Fendley, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance issued by The
Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to Paul Duncan for a period of one year from
April 30, 1963, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Fendley, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that a certified copy of a Resolution adopted by
the Board of Education of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, on April 22, 1963 entitled "A
RESOLUTION requesting an election on the question of levying an annual special general
purpose school tax for the benefit of the Paducah Independent School District", be
received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Hornsby`
Karnes and Mayor Cherry (a).
i/ Commissioner Karnes offered motion that Gladman C. Humbles be employed as an Applic
Candidate for employment as a Fireman in the Fire Department of the City at a salary of
x'•270.00 per month, effective I•iay 16, 1963, provided by such time he furnishes, at his
expense, a satisfactory medical report as to him physical condition including an

Mayor Cherry offered the following motion: I move that the petition of James
Sanders, Sr. for permission to make one 3/4 -inch connection to the existing 3 -inch
rater pipe line located on Schneidman Road, known as the Schneidman Road 'later Line ido.
1, for the purpose of furnishing water to a Nursery only upon property he owns fronting
on the west side of Schneldman Road, in McCracken County, Kentucky, and outside the
corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be received and filed, and that the
request petitioned for therein be granted, subject to the terms and conditions in said
petition. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Hornsby, Karnes
and Iayor Cherry (1;).

Commissioners of later Works, Paducah, Kentucky, on December 31, 1962, relative to the
rehabilitation of six obsolete filters, and a certified copy of a motion adopted on
April 29, 1963 amending, said motion, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (4).
Mayor Cherry offered the following motion: I move that George D. Wiggins, Jr.
